Amazing, how much better even an ugly spot looks with an arch & climber in it. @gardening

There are 4 fox who come to our garden & this vixen is the only one interested in the hedgehogs. There's another nursing vixen who'll nudge the hogs out of the way to get to kibble underneath them, but isn't at all curiouss about them. @gardening

Outside at night facing hedgehog feeder. 2 hedgehogs are protectively curled up in front of the feeder. A nursing vixen carefully sniffs the hog on the right, then exits to the right herself.

Seems the self seeded columbine is going to be purple after all, but I don't care. Look how gorgeous it is! Not bad for a free plant. @gardening

With the tulips going over, the allium have started up, including the honey garlic, those tall thin ones at the back. This nice collection happened because my bulbs got mixed up during the move & I was only partially able to separate them. Quite pleased with this accident. @gardening

Close up of the honey garlic buds which have a slight wave at the top of the bud capsule.

More hog courtship in the garden last night. This male is significantly smaller than the previous male. No way for me to tell if the female is the same beleagured lady. What a curse, being so attractive. Anyway, that means at least 3 hogs come to my station. How cool is that? @gardening

Outside at night facing a hedgehog feeder with 2 hogs in front. The one on the left is slightly hunkered & looking behind her at the approach of the 2nd hog. The first hog makes huffing sounds as the 2nd hog moves around her, giving her a good sniff. The behaviour seems to be that the first, huffy hog is the female & the sniffing one is the male.

The geranium are taking FOREVER to open. It's their 1st year here & I'm so wanting to see what they look like. (I have 5 other new geranium, so it's going to be an exciting time ahead.) @gardening

Outside, daytime. Close up of other white buds on same plant, these which are slightly open so the spiral of cream leaves with pink tinges can be seen.

Inside daytime. Natural light. Same pair of socks now on a person's feet.

So 5:45 pm & our guest is still here. Pretty certain this is the male who's been visiting, unlucky in love - the female won't give him the time of day.

When I checked earlier, he was breathing deeply & had his head resting on the side, definitely asleep. I think, since I brought the film crew this time, we woke him up. @gardening

Outside, daytime. Camera focused from above on me lifting the lid off the hedgehog feeder to show the hedgehog curled up inside.

Didn't expect that when I went to tidy the feeding station this morning. Hog's usually gone before 5am. This was around 6:45. Left it alone for now but will have another peak later in the avoe. @gardening

Colour in the geranium buds. Hope these survive the magpies who ate the buds on another geranium before it could open. @gardening

A little gift from one of the wild things roaming our garden. No other rowans on the street, so quite pleased it's moved here. @gardening

Ah, here you are again, Monday. You're lucky these 'uns showed up with you. Just when I think I love one layer of spring blooming the best, the next one comes along. @gardening

Outside, daytime. Close up of the forget-me-nots. Set in gravel, they have medium green, soft looking leaves with tiny, 5 petal blue flowers that have white bits in a star shape in the middle with yellow in the exact middle.
