Tulips are in charge of the garden now. Their colours grab my attention, even when there are other spring flowers in bloom. Most of mine are in the ground, but this was a bulb that got left behind when I lifted them last year. Since we were moving, I stuck odd bulbs in whatever pot was closest. I love the chaos growing in this particular pot, altho later in the summer, it'll get cleaned up a bit. @gardening

Same planterl Camera angled to show the inside of the tulips better. The black is outline in yellow & forms a 6 sided star. The pistol stands up & is also yellow.

Have cast on Larch Peds pair #2. Let's see if my adjustments make a difference. @knitting

1st Larch Ped finished. Not overly pleased with the cuff, so rather than make the 2nd in the pair, will try adjustments on a new pair. @knitting

Larch Peds update. So the heel is done. I'm not certain about the sizing. The ankle opening looks large, but elastic cures a lot of problems with sock tops, in my experience. However, seeing how it's turning out, I may go a size smaller next time for this particular small footed recipient. @knitting

O yes, way easier than picking up stitches for the arch. Larch Peds by Laura Nelkin.
(Actually, I think the 3rd needle positioning works quite well.)
@knitting

Same item, another positioning of the various needles which looks even more complicated.
A third arrangement of needles with both circulars hanging dowards & the double pointed being used horizontally.

In case anyone wondered, the above post was sarcasm. You'll be glad to know I lived through the heel turn & gusset - the designer calls it Lola's Pickup Line. It gives a smooth gusset, very nice to look at, although it's not really visible here. More photos tomorrow.

So here I am, ready to do the heel flap but my beginning-of-row is 45 stitches away from where the designer says it should be. I don't know the specifics of how this happened, but I do know it has something to do w/a brain glitch that reverses things. I also know if I knit 45 stitches, I can start the heel flap. But another brain glitch is throwing a fit becuz it doesn't know exactly how I made the mistake. So now I wait on the toddler tantrum in my brain to finish. (sigh) @knitting

Progress on the Larch Peds last night. 1st, ribbed heel lining. 2nd, outer heel in a light blue. 3rd, ribbed lining turned inside of outer heel. Today I knit them together.
Glad for the tutorial video link in the pattern. Knew something was wrong with outer heel short rows & couldn't figure it out. Watching the video, I realised I got my A & B stitch markers mixed up.
Very excited about this pattern. My son, who is the recipient, can't wait to see how they turn out.

Inside at night, artificial light. The knitting now sits on top of a silver coloured laptop. The single line of variegated knitting is now several rows deep in stockinette stitch, more rows on one side, as short rows have been knitted.
Inside at night, artificial light. The turquoise ribbing has now been folded inside the lighter blue stockinette, leaving 2 rows of turquoise at the top of the knitting. The short rows mean the knitting, which is the back of a short sock, is higher on one side than the other.

Have started Laura Nelkin's Larch Ped sock pattern. Didn't find it too terribly fiddly. Used an 8" cable for the provisional cast on, & felt at risk of losing stitches off it, so transferred to a longer circular needle. Look forward to switch to the MC in order to see how this heel yoke is going to work. @knitting https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/larch-peds

Same location, same position, but one of the 8" needles has been replaces with a much longer one. Another row of knitting has also been added.

1st herb robert of the season. I'd never seen these before moving to the UK & immediately fell in love w/both the flower & foliage. What's not to love, right? They do take the run of the place, so I can only let them bloom for so long before time to address that issue. Like dandelions, so many folk view them as weeds, so they're one of my many well loved vices. Dandelions, of course, are another. @gardening

Woodwardia. I love this fern. When the fronds uncurl, they'll have a coppery, metallic sheen, then shift to red & finally green. Simply gorgeous. @gardening

Same pot, same time. Close up of 2 curled fronds, these looking equally hairy but having more of a copper colour than the previous one.

Recap on swan(song) sweater. Started in buzz of madness, 2022, stopped to make Xmas gifts, had 700 other adventures good & bad, then found it in WIP pile w/only bodice front to do. Several patterns behind the idea were w/it, but no notes.
wtf
Update. Made a plan, poodle along to the 2nd front shoulder & realise neckline can't be decreased evenly cuz the colourwork's asymmetrical.
wtf
Definitely not frogging. Will figure out an asymmetrical collar instead. Ideas welcomed.
@knitting

Same sweater with close up of the swans & flowers to show the asymmetry.
