Actually worked on this crane in the beginning of my career. Wasn't under Mammoet then but ALE. I didn't find the mechanical design all that interesting since you don't see size on your computer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1Oq3nWkTtY
Today, I told one of my coworkers to fuck off. He is the most negative person I have ever met, and complains about all of the work the rest of us are trying to do. When asked if he’d like to take over the project himself, he said “No. That’s a trick my wife tries to pull.”
He is a proud, professional asshole.
I later took the high road and went and apologized. He apologized as well for unnecessarily snarky remarks.
I just cannot stand negative people that complain but never want to help.
I saw a comment on a recent YouTube video about #FreeCAD that said there was a lot of "toxic positivity" among FreeCAD users. Apparently, this prevents them from seeing glaring flaws when compared against other CAD
I'll fully admit that FreeCAD isn't perfect, and some tasks aren't as convenient as in commercial software...for now. It's getting better thanks to efforts of a small group of unpaid developers
It's a lot easier to improve software when you pay more people to spend the time doing it
@chrishuck Thing that annoys me the most about the comments are the huge amount of people that keep defending and using "Free" commercial CAD software. How often do people need be be screwed over for to understand there is no free commercial stuff. The whole point of a commercial busniss is to make money.
I've had so much feelings about The Social Network (the movie) and Facebook (the platform) that I put them in writing in a blog post. I'm talking about how I have been using Facebook and how I see its fall.
I've had browser tabs open to a few Hemingway #machining kits for I think over a year, thinking about buying them but wondering about cost to ship metal stock overseas. A few weeks ago it hit me that I had some UK colleagues about to visit my office, and I asked if they maybe had a few pounds worth of freeboard in their suitcases.
I have some wonderfully kind colleagues, and shipping to our UK office was quite inexpensive.
@chrishuck This is all in main no addons or such. Just settings. We probably needs to make this the more default look.
Edit. The bar below is a workbench. But that is beeing worked on
@Stark9837@koz@linux_mclinuxface@3dprinting this is also why you don't see a lot of opensource CAD on most channels or even Blender. They all get paid to use Fusion or Oneshape.
