Re my last repost about letter writing. I was literally thinking about this yesterday. I have letters my Grandad wrote me when I was young, which I treasure.

I can remember the excitement when the postie bought a new letter.

I love lots of things about the Internet but do have a nostalgic desire for some letter writing

If you have not read either of these books, then you really should.

Regardless of whether you like Non fic or not, if you are using this here big old interwebs, then honestly read them both. Start with Doppelganger and then read Code Dependant.

Is technology gonna destroy democracy? What about the whole of humanity?

These books made me worry, but both also gave hope for the future and the power of humanity and most of all communities.

April!

My birthday month.

I used to hate my birthday but I have learned to love it and look forward to a special day just me to do things I fucking love.

It's not till the 19th but as far as I am concerned the moment its April its the beginning of it.

Dentistry care in this country is all such a rip off and if we are not careful it will soon be extended to all health care.

Also going to the dentist should not be for those privileged enough to afford it.

And don't tell me there is NHS dentist for those who can't afford it. Yes for the absolute poorest but for those who work but barely scrape by.... you gotta pay.

Kink of the Week – The future
I have thought a lot about this over the last six months. In the summer I was fairly certainly that it was time to pause this project but then things shifted again for me in September and I changed my mind. However as the autumn turned to winter and I looked ahead into 2024 I realised that for now I needed to make some changes.

This has absolutely been the key to me finding peace & happiness.

The white roses my mum gave me this week make me smile

We are planning our big Thanksgiving family meal for next week.

Today I get to light candles, have a bath, snuggle under a blanket with the dog & Michael & read my book.
We will finally finish the Haunting of Blyth Manor.
If I never set foot on a plane again, oh well, it is what it is. There is so much joy in every day.

Mastodon has made me realise how much I friggin love geeks, especially the techie geek men.

Half of what they say is beyond me, talking about their Linux distros, (whatever that is... please don't explain it, I married a tech geek and he is now explaining it) but I love it.

#WritersCoffeeClub 10/11. What's the biggest mistake you've made in your writing journey?

Not just doing it. Letting my brain over think it and keep talking myself out of it.
I can write short pieces, but I have so many ideas for longer ones but I get overwhelmed and talk myself out of doing them. Who is gonna wanna read that? Its cheesy romance? I don't have a good ending? I can't see the pathway through it? You just don't have it in you. You don't have time. You must concentrate on paid work
