I just read a sad story about a boy who died after eating yew berries. But it amazed me to see the coroner blaming a park for not labelling the trees as poisonous. Yews are in almost all English church yards. None are labelled! . Did you know yews are poisonous?
I thought it was common knowledge.

    And sites wonder why people use ad blockers! Here's without an ad blocker, Vs with an ad blocker on a news site on my phone

    With ad blocker. The whole article including a relevant photo is viewable.

    Right. There's been a lot of talk about and it's place here on the fediverse of late.
    Whether you're blind, deaf or sighted, I'd be curious to not only have you fill out the relevant choice, but feel free to respond to this with more detail if you like.
    Do you make use of, benefit from or even find alt-text useful, whether for images or audio?

    Tattooed_mummy, (edited )
    @Tattooed_mummy@wandering.shop avatar

    @FreakyFwoof I bloody love alt text. You see why a person shared an image, what they find important about it, and if I'm out and about I might switch off images to save data use, then I still get to 'see' them.

    Imagine you are on the phone, you see a hilarious visual joke online and want to share it, or a picture of a view in a country you want to visit, or a lovely flower, think about how you would tell the person on the other end of the line...that's it, that's your alt text

    Please alt text your images. Thank you

    Ministers warn English councils not to adopt four-day working weeks

    The council has said its continuing trial of the practice, in which office staff and bin collectors are paid the same for working 20% fewer hours, has already helped it improve recruitment and led to over ยฃ500,000 in savings on agency workers.

    The cruelty as always, appears to be the point, since evidence shows it saves money.
