That feeling when you're googling the answer to some technical question, and your own Lemmy post appears 4 results down. (lemmy.one)
Hopefully this kind of content is ok here. Up until recently, when I would be searching for some kind of technical info, the top (and best) results would usually all be Reddit posts. I was very pleasantly surprised to do that this time and find a Lemmy post instead!...
Obscure screw added so appliance cannot be disassembled (lemmy.world)
Basic blender went bad (motor ran but spindle wasn’t rotating). I wanted to disassemble to see if it could be repaired. Three of the four screws were Phillips head. I had to cut the casing open in order to discover why I couldn’t unscrew the fourth. It was a slotted spanner.
Spiders are poisonous apparently (assets.pxlmo.com)
Dual Chamber Transverse Ocarina (assets.pxlmo.com)
Sounds pretty good! It’s printed out of PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoates). This is a food safe naturally occurring material synthesized by bacteria, and it is fully biodegradable in a reasonable time span, in any biome, with no microplastics. Design from SolidZone, material from Filaments.ca Regen collection. Once the world figures...
Migrating Content?
Would it be bad etiquette, for us who are leaving the other site, to recreate some of our old posts on Lemmy? EDIT: Not like for clout or something. I mean because there was like a decade's worth of preserved knowledge across lots of really niche domains over there. Stuff that maybe isn't even recorded anywhere else.
My first tatting project! It's not very good but I'm enjoying it anyway. (assets.pxlmo.com)
I keep learning the bare minimum of tatting and then getting frustrated and giving up… This time I’m gonna stick with it! Please forgive all the horrendous mistakes lol....
Utensil Holder (lemmy.one)
Assistive tech for people that have trouble holding forks/spoons/etc. Made from my favorite lesser known material, polyhydroxyalkanoates, which is fully biodegradable in any biome. Anyone else making AT for people?
First ever Thicket Bean (Phaseolus polystachios) harvest (assets.pxlmo.com)
Sorry this isn’t actually foraging per se, but the only kind of people who’d grow these are probably foragers anyway. I’ve been growing them for a couple years, but this is the first year I had enough to bother trying to eat them! From two plants we got about 1/2 a cup....
Home Carbonation Setup - What is this connection on the left! (lemmy.one)
Hi DIY punks! I need a little help with something. I’ve been trying all sorts of ways to home carbonate things as sustainably as possible. Most have not really worked out as intended, but I’m really really close on this latest attempt. This version is to connect a CO2 tank to a whipped cream dispenser....
Enough interest for a Haxe community? (haxe.org)
My friends and I are mostly novices at programming, and we’re practicing by trying to collaborate on a game written in Haxe. It doesn’t seem like there’s any large web presence of Haxe programmers though. Would people have interest in having one here? Just something simple like:...
Ditto Undisguised Out in the Open?
I wish I’d taken a picture… I saw a ditto just chillin’ totally undisguised, so I caught it. You know how with a disguised ditto, it does the whole “Oh, what’s this? It was actually a ditto!” thing? Well after I caught this undisguised ditto, it did that and turned into a Zorua instead!...
(mostly native) Stuffed Pattypan Squash (assets.pxlmo.com)
For the first time, I had a lot of Illinois Bundleflower seeds to harvest. I’ve never cooked or eaten them before, and information online is pretty slim unfortunately. So, I just took a stab at something random. For the filling:...
Will c/Food rate my pantry planning? (docs.google.com)
This might be a weird post, but I'm getting the impression that in these early days, content is content?...
Old news, but streaming is possibly worse for the environment than physical media was in its heyday. Can we help mitigate that? (www.rollingstone.com)
I don’t know much about this stuff, first of all… maybe this is well trodden territory already and I just missed it. Sorry if that’s the case! I’m a relatively new FunkWhale user, but it has completely replaced all other music streaming for me....
Is it possible to listen to internet radio/MP3 streams like Radio Free Fedi in FunkWhale? (radiofreefedi.net)
Probably a really obvious question, sorry....
Bryn Mawr College will relocate commencement ceremonies due to pro-Palestinian encampment (www.inquirer.com)

Share images from Pixelfed?
I saw somewhere that, instead of attaching images directly to Lemmy posts, you should instead post them to a Pixelfed instance and link to it. If a lot of people did that, it should reduce the load on Lemmy instances. I made a Pixelfed account so I could do that, but I don't like that people have to click through to see the...
Cleome serrulata are beautiful and plentiful this year! (assets.pxlmo.com)
I post a lot of edible plants native to (roughly) the Northeast U.S. on my Pixelfed account.
Federated Fanfiction Platform?
Is there a Fediverse option for hosting fanfiction, or maybe web novels/serials/etc? Like an AO3 alternative, basically. I looked around but couldn't find one, the closest thing that kinda works are the blogging platforms like writefreely. If there isn't, do you think fanfiction would be a good candidate for federation?
Test (assets.pxlmo.com)
Trying to see if linking directly to an externally hosted image will make it show without clicking through. I want to reduce the load on Lemmy instances by externally hosting images, but it's annoying for the image not to show up in feed...
Does anyone have any tips for GMing Suited? (www.escapeboxgames.com)
This system is really cool, but it seems like not that many people are playing it. I think the name “suited” is probably not helping the matter… While clever, it makes it kinda hard to google....
[Northeast U.S.A.] Xylocopa virginica resting on a fence post (assets.pxlmo.com)
This time of year, there’s a zillion of these loudly and clumsily zooming around right outside my backdoor. They’re very curious about everything that moves; they’ll just like stare you down, hovering a foot in front of your face. Too cute!! They are also kinda eating the landlords mudroom… but so slowly that I’m...
Probably Graphocephala coccinea? Super cute leafhopper! (assets.pxlmo.com)
It was chilling on a Paulownia tree in Southeast Pennsylvania, U.S. I post more critters on my Pixelfed if anyone’s interested.
These are all the same font. (HaxeFlixel) (lemmy.one)
Specifically this font, although I’ve tried a few. Specifically in HashLink....
