An article published in the journal "The Astrophysical Journal Letters" reports the results of observations of a structure similar to a chimney which functions as a sort of vent from which hot gas coming from Sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way, escapes.

An article published in the journal "Nature" reports the results of a study of the exoplanet 55 Cancri e, formally called Janssen, which confirms the presence of an atmosphere that is considered secondary, which means that it derives from emissions coming from the planet itself. A team of researchers used observations conducted with the James Webb Space Telescope to detect traces of an atmosphere.

An article published in "The Astronomical Journal" reports evidence that the supernova remnant cataloged as 30 Doradus B, or simply 30 Dor B, is the result of at least two separate supernovae and not just one.

Ah yes, we watched the launch, I wonder if there is a collective name for those of us who took a break from the usual xmas activities to watch a rocket launch.

The SpaceX Dragon 2 spacecraft blasted off atop a Falcon 9 rocket from the Kennedy Space Center in its CRS-29 (Cargo Resupply Service 29) mission, also referred to as SPX-29. After almost exactly 12 minutes it separated successfully from the rocket's last stage and went en route to the International Space Station.

An article being published in the journal "Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society" reports the observation of a Luminous Fast Blue Optical Transient (LFBOT), a rare type of cosmic explosion of still uncertain nature which was cataloged as AT2023fhn.

An article published in "The Astrophysical Journal Letters" reports the discovery of the most distant cold molecular gas in the interstellar medium of the galaxy that hosts the quasar nicknamed Pōniuāʻena, one of the three most distant bright quasars known. A team of researchers used observations conducted with the NOEMA (Northern Extended Millimeter Array) radio telescope to obtain the detection of the gas, to be precise carbon monoxide.

The Progress MS-24 spacecraft blasted off atop a Soyuz-2.1a rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. After about nine minutes it successfully separated from the rocket's last stage and was placed on its route. The cargo spacecraft began its resupply mission to the International Space Station also called Progress 85 or 85P. In this mission, the route used is the one that requires about two days.
