You seem pretty content to let countless Gazans die to possibly prevent you facing oppression here.
Nothing any of us do in the upcoming election will stop that. Voting Trump will get Gazans killed, voting Biden will get Gazans killed, and voting 3rd party will get Gazans killed.
And it’s hardly just a possibility of oppression here. Trump has vowed to do everything in his power to stop gender affirming care from being available. It’s going to end up with dead trans people, including children. That’s not just a possibility, that’s practically a guarantee.
But Trump isn’t going to stop with that, because he and his buddies have made it clear that they want to tear down what little democracy we have, and kill/jail his political opponents. That means you. He isn’t paraphrasing Hitler for nothing.
Technically, the Two Party system isn’t actually a thing.
Nothing in the Constitution empowers them.
This part is kind of inaccurate. Because of the constitution, we use first past the post voting, which naturally devolves into a two party system. It’s like trying to build a sky scraper out of just wood. The blueprints don’t explicitly call for it to collapse, but because of the chosen materials, it is bound to happen.
I find it interesting that they used Forever War as one of them instead of Forever Peace. I personally felt that Forever Peace was more impactful in terms of message, and had more interesting explorations of sci fi concepts like the manufacturing credits, and cerebral connection tech.
Granted, they’re both phenomenal books. Just an interesting choice.
Consistent application of the law hasn’t stopped them with Roe v Wade. It’s not going to stop them anywhere else. Their motivation to maintain power, control, and the status quo takes priority over all. They’ll just find some bullshit reason to rule how they like, such that rules apply for others but not themselves.

If you at all care about the lives of trans people, black people, women, latin american people, and the other many targets of Trump & the republicans, then you must recognize that under no circumstances should Trump be given power.

Life is full of choice forced upon you, thats unavoidable short of choosing to stop existing. I am forced to choose between where to work. If I say “fuck it, I’m not going to legitimize this capitalist system, I’m making no such choice”, I’ve still made a choice, one that will end up with me being homeless. The threat of violence came true anyways.
It’s in my best interest to choose, and in the meantime work to dismantle the capitalist system that is threatening me with homelessness. But when it comes to voting, it’s worse because the lives of others are on the line.
You don’t have the luxury to stand by and do nothing when people’s lives are on the line.
How many trans people will die as a result of suicide or outright killings as a result of Trump coming to power? Their blood will be on your hands, how much are you ok having on your hands? You have the opportunity to vote for a candidate that isn’t going to ban GAC, who isn’t going to condone or pardon violence against trans people, who isn’t going to shift the culture towards more hatred.
And you’re choosing to stand idly by and let the harm happen.
America was built on uprise or anything. Typical American though, knowing nothing about how your country was founded.
And it is currently a police state, with fascists in power. Talk is cheap, why don’t you go first? Start an uprising and have fun getting disappeared. Then come back and complain about those who are trying not to endanger their families.
