I left work early and went to see my MIL in the hospital. She told me that she had refused all treatment and was going to die. I dont know what came over me, but I said thats your only child syndrome coming out. She asked what I was talking about. I said you are only thinking about yourself. Never mind that my daughter counts on you for encouragement and she needs it to get through college or im gonna be stuck with her for the rest ofmy life. Never mind that you have 2 great grand....

She gave me the stink eye of death but and cried, and told me she can't for the life of her understand what her daughter sees in me. I said put your oxygen back in before you suffer brain damage that you can ill afford. After some banter she pushed the call button ....

She is still going to need to go to a nursing home, and the one she had picked out is a bit over budget. I told her that was easily fixed. I spoke to my SIL and her place will be ready Thursday. So we'll see what happens. End

No one is using using Truth Social. It’s on the stock market entirely so that Trump can cash out and thus deal with his legal problems. DWAC interest is at 11% which means a whole lot of people expect it to crash.

It’s worth noting, though, that Truth Social is almost entirely based on Fediverse software – though it doesn’t federate – and its current valuation is around $5 billion.

@atomicpoet Um Mastadon.social is by far the largest fediverse server, with 1.1 million users. The top 10 mastondon servers have 2.8 million users. Truth Social has 5 million users. That's small compared to twitter, and i don't think it justifies the valuation, but it isn't nobody.

This guy at work, has a 2 month old baby. he was born with his upper lip adhered to his gums and his tongue completely attached to the bottom of his mouth. As a result, he couldn't really suck very well to eat. So he had surgery and is undergoing physical therapy but still struggles to eat. They were assigned a suck nurse (lactation consultant) she just told them that the baby's body is too tense and they need to take him to a chiropractor. I am skeptical that this will help him suck but maybe.

My wife and I usually have date night on Saturday. Today, my daughter was here and left kind if late to go back to school. Even though we have food shopped together only 3 x in 23 years (it didn't go so well) we both needed some stuff, so rather than go to our usual place we decided to take a trip to Walmart together. It was our first successful food shopping trip ever. Probably because she is on a special diet so we were each shopping for ourselves. I even found her flowers 1 of 2

For only 5 bucks. That was awesome. I dont know what it is about our local Walmart but the clientele is like a freak show, so we came out if there feeling quite sexy. I highly recommend the place for a romantic date night.

How come I can't see @DrFell on my live feeds... we follow each other and I have him on my notifications... it's weird 🤷‍♀️

I do see his posts in my notifications but I don't see any of his posts on the live feeds.

The curious thing about Lloyd Austin’s absence is not that he was gone and nobody noticed. He is a useless placeholder.

It is not that he is so incompetent that he failed to do his duty. He has demonstrated a contempt for duty that is surprising for an officer who has served in combat.

What I cannot understand and have real questions about is the apparatus that surrounds Austin (and any other SecDef, no matter how useless).
