Vivarium (2019) - Simple, slow paced, and deeply deeply weird (www.rottentomatoes.com)

This film got dragged for how slow paced and simplistic it is, but it honestly was perfect to me. It's one of the most unique and believable horror concepts I've ever seen and I thought it was executed to a T -- with the drawn-out nature of it just adding to the atmosphere. YMMV but I thought it was fantastic.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this one when I saw it a couple months ago. I had just stumbled on it when I was looking around for something scary to watch.

It may not be fake. There’s a fairly new disorder called ARFID that the kid may be dealing with.

Ha, I’ve never seen the music video for that song before and it looks like a parody of itself. Hilariously one of the worst music videos I’ve ever seen.

It’s not a political comic.

Don Quixote (fictional character from the book of the same name) mistook windmills for Giants and tried to fight them.

So he’s mistaking the small fan for a child, in the same way as the windmills.

But it doesn’t though. Before people bathed consistently, everyone smelled. It wouldn’t have been a factor in partner selection.

Plus, I never had a great relationship with my dad, whereas my brother did.

This is what’s so wild about my relationship with my first. I love her so much it literally pains me. I can’t get enough of the smiles and hugs and laughter.

I can’t imagine it would be different with a second, but eventually they grow up and become their own people.

You don’t get to choose your family and I don’t think it’s always possible to be friends with your parents. (Mostly because I don’t think I’d be friends with my dad outside of our familial relationship).

But I would hate for that to happen with even just one of my children.
