Semjaza,

But since Standard is now 3 years, maybe it is not Extended who is really dead.

Semjaza,

I got it out of a judge group, but there are socials on the image that looks easy enough to trace.

That the same Jace is in the pinfinity link you shared, it does seem pretty legit. And the art on the officially shared pinfinity badge(?, I have no idea what a pinfinity is) looks to be the same artwork as on this version of the card.

Semjaza,

Always had a soft spot for Wumpus, not sure how good it is in 2024, even if you can turn off the downside though. Playable, but probably not great.

Semjaza,

I reckon it’s playable.
Just not much more than begrudgingly so. Somewhere between the 2/1 morbid +1/+1 buzzard and the 3/4 menace zombie in OTJ.

Semjaza,

The problems of quality with mass agriculture corn that has enough might to have lobbying power to influence regulatory policy aren’t solved by growing your own corn that you can regulate and control the cultivar and farming methods?

Semjaza,

And this is why, little bushes, we must always have birds and give to them our first sprung berries on tribute.

Semjaza,

Yeah, this deck is fun.

I’ve been beaten by it a few times (I suspect shortly after the content bod did their vid), but not played it myself. Does feel very weak to spot removal, but tends to win against a deck playing solitaire.

A largeish flash creature might work well too to flash in on endstep before playing calamity. That said, Terror and Rhino seem great I win buttons.

Maybe Skrelv as on board free hexproof?

Semjaza,

Still not giving screen time to my favourite stemmy brassica: asparagus lettuce/莴笋.

Semjaza, (edited )

Yes, that’s the stuff and it’s brilliant raw or cooked!

Not sure about this odd tween-spoonerism name, but catchier than asparagus lettuce for sir. E

Semjaza,

Maths - Blue Physics - IDFK, red? Purple? Chemistry - A different Blue Biology - Green Geography - Orange… or Green again.

Semjaza,

The thing about Entropy that I’m sure people have worked out but I just don’t know is how it is this scary cosmic horror yet it wasn’t able to stop the very ordered formation of planets and solar systems… Or undo that before the billions of years it took for humans to have the concept of it.

Semjaza,

But isn’t that balance a more ordered state?

I’m sorry about any implied sentience, obviously Entropy isn’t a thing with an agenda. Though I do feel the need to point out that our sun is far too small to go supernova.

Semjaza, (edited )

That analogy makes more sense. Thanks for sticking with me.

I still don’t get the online people who talk about Entropy as if it is some force that dooms things, but I do better understand the basic physics I think. Thanks.

But… Also while I get it was an analogy, human action like launching probes into space is pretty entropic. All that stuff was ordered in a solid glove orbiting a star, and now it’s been all jumbled up into a bizzare state and flung way away from it’s place of order. So life itself is a high entropy way of generating low entropy?

Semjaza,

Pour one out for Ceres, for being downmoted so long ago people forget it was a planet.

Pour one out for Makemake and Hamuhea, for being discovered so recently they never got to be planets.

Semjaza,

Is it just me or does she look very much like Lady Gaga in this art?

Semjaza,

Is that equivalent to 65% don’t reoffend? Or am I misunderstanding the recidivism rate?

Semjaza, (edited )

Interesting if you read about it, while many were found guilty I think only a woman is being sentences to death while many men are just getting a decade in prison for their involvement in it.

If she was the ringleader, sure… I guess (not that it makes the state’s murdering of folks alright). But odd that she gets death while all the men don’t even get 20 in jail.

Semjaza,

OK, so ignoring that not going to change doesn’t mean the death penalty is valid (the very idea presupposes the existence of states and the idea that a power structure can put people to death), that using the upper limits of your statistics means that for every 1 (0.35) who would reoffend that is murdered, you’ve also murdered 2 (0.65) who would not.
So if you do want to go ahead on your executions, the number of reoffenses should be up at 3 or so as a minimum.

But there are better ways to deal with it, as executing people is bad for the people who have to do it, the families of the executed, and sometimes even the victims and families as they’re robbed of a chance for closure and understanding.

Semjaza,

Or is it the state just protecting and strengthening itself while using language to pretend it is on the side of the people?

The state will never execute, or legislate, our way to a better society.

Semjaza,

Only the heartland.

And indirectly.

Much as it also lowered the standard of living across much of Africa and Central Asia due to the proxy wars and coups.

Plus normalising executions does make the world worse.

Semjaza,

Edit: I’m being harsh, you’re just having fun. Internet misses tone of voice, so it’s easy to be at off wires, I’m being too nitpick and I’d probably agree if we spoke face to face. Sorry for being an online argumentative berk. Enjoy your day.

Original: Bad guys? 🤨
Even Thatcher and Reagan had families.

Always remember: the means are the ends.

Semjaza,

The problem is the human condition of greedy tuckers, so let’s keep political systems which give a few people who want all the power all the power, rather than work towards anarchism where no one gets the power?

Semjaza,

They’d be out-competed by those who used their wealth to screw over the competition and drive small businesses under.

Semjaza,

People and ideology.
