They could have easily crammed the Steam Deck full of stuff to make it hard to use for piracy - locking down everything, making it usable only to play games you legitimately own, force you to go through who knows what hoops in order to play games on it. That’s what Nintendo or Apple or most other companies do....
Games are one of the very few things that I always pay for. Steam is mostly responsible for that. Also, music. But nowadays I do store some of my own music because I can have lossless that way.
Palestinian farmers in the occupied West Bank face economic devastation as a surge in violence by illegal Israeli settlers and the Israeli military prevents them from harvesting their olives. Around 100,000 Palestinian families are estimated to rely on these trees as a source of income....
Yeah, because countries outside US are hellscapes. And everyone there is dying of illegal gun violence. No wait, US has one of the highest rate of death from gun violence. It’s also one of the most unsafe countries in the western world. Makes you think…
Also, sports is a secondary usage for guns. They were developed for violence. Some people figured out that they’re skilled at shooting. Hunting is a valid use, I’ll give you that.
What a tool. Smoking should be banned, yes. I do agree with that. And I’m leaving US soon enough, don’t worry lol. But if your response to criticism is “hurr durr leave US”, there’s no point in arguing with a meathead like you.
Drunk driving IS ILLEGAL. It’s a by product of US’s car centric lifestyle. That should also be addressed. Also, you talked about diseases. Like bitch, everyone IS trying to abolish them. It’s just hard. What a dumb motherfucker you are.
What fact? Data literally shows that US is the least safe of all Western countries. And I’m saying Western countries because there’s no point in comparing with poorer countries, they have other problems. And I’m not saying banning any of those stuff is good, you moron.
Guns should be regulated heavily, cars should not be needed by anyone and everyone, who said anything about tools? Drugs are already regulated. Smokes too, every country is trying to abolish it. And I’m not totally against all drugs. I actually think weed should be legalized, as it seems to be much safer than cigarettes and not at all worthy of a ban. Pets are nice. I love sugar, and bacon.
You don’t know anything about me, internet stranger. It’s clear to me that you prefer to make enemies out of everyone who disagrees with you. I wish people like you had a chance to be better.
This post is mostly for me to look at alternatives. I currently subscribe to Trade. But recently I’ve been hearing about their bad practices like sending packages with wrong weight, or paying very little money to the roasters....
Yeah. A couple of them do. They have like 10-ish single origin roasts among the few of them. But I only like 3 of those. One Nicaraguan, one Ethiopian, and one Colombian.
Trade’s subscription itself is very good. I have no doubt that your family members will be happy with it. The issues come up when you look beyond the subscription itself and read about their business practices.
I haven’t seen anything in the media (Trade is a very niche company, so makes sense). But there have been many discussions online and looks like there have been issues with their behavior for a while. When it comes to coffee, word of mouth means a lot to me. You can read some of the conversation using these links:
You’re making this way more complicated than it actually is. The guy definitely can give estimates for when he parked the bike and when he found out that it was stolen. It’s not that complicated.
For the last few months, I’ve been splitting a bag of coffee beans into 2-3 portions and freezing them. I’ve seen that it extends the freshness by a bit. Now, I’ve been storing them in older coffee bags (the standard sealable ones) since they take up less space than jars and also I’m just reusing something that...
I’m kinda in the same boat, except for a specific private tracker. It’s a local private tracker which has a ton of exclusive stuff in my native language, and most of the users also speak it so there’s a communal aspect to it. But otherwise, yeah. I also tend to prefer public trackers, especially for more mainstream stuff.

I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."

Do you use a coffee subscription? Which one?

As I get more and more invites to private trackers, I’m finding that I find myself spending more and more time on public tracker websites....
