I forgot about Bitcoin when it was still mostly worthless. I got rid of my old laptop when it had a ton of issues. I had around 8 btc left in a wallet after spending several hundred on um… An ancient trade route lol.
Yeah it sat in my wallet for a long time and wasn’t really gaining any value. I didn’t have a need for the trade route anymore cuz I just used it once for some exotic spices that I didn’t really care for. Mining wasn’t an option for me because I didn’t have a powerful computer as a broke college kid. So I just kinda checked out.
Still sucks to think about how I could have ended up with a great return, but hindsight is 20/20 and all that.
I wish list stuff until a Bandcamp Friday comes around where artists get all the money. I’ve stopped buying physical media, so waiting on a digital purchase isn’t an issue for me.
For now, they still provide DRM free downloads in FLAC. And they still pay the artists on the Fridays. I’ll continue using it till they inevitably fuck it up.
The other key feature being cost. A VDI terminal is much cheaper than actual PCs for employees. When I was working IT for a large company, we were able to get them in bulk for about $100 each. A PC cost us at least $800.
Iirc, and I could be getting this wrong, but different crops take and return different nutrients to the soil. So rotating where they’re planted can help prevent depletion of the soil, while you can still use all the land available each season.
Yeah that’s a big part as well. Also fallow is such a great word and I rediscovered it when I found an artist named Emma Ruth Rundle who uses it beautifully in at least a couple songs.
Electric Wizard is pretty damn popular amongst metal heads at least. But this song is my favorite of theirs.
Fun story, my buddy and I got really stoned and he had just gotten this on vinyl. We were listening to the whole thing, and at the very end the record is designed to skip back and keep playing the creepy laugh over and over. Weirded us out because we were so high.
That’s awesome. Also Windhand is amazing live if you ever get the chance to see them. I saw them here in Columbus with our hometown stoner/doom bands - Lo-Pan and Weed Demon. Tons of fun
More than that, they’ll garnish your wages eventually. It happened to me once when I was barely getting by. I had to go to court and show my finances on public record and be humiliated to get them to back off.

I’m reading Snowcrash again. Definitely one of my favorite sci Fi books of all time. It’s a bit heavy to get through, but I’m taking my time instead of rushing through it like I’ve done in the past. Great read.
