Finally had time to defeat the Elite Four and become Champion in Pokémon Shining Pearl. It's the first time I've ever fully finished a Gen 4 game as any other time I started I found it so slow and boring.
This remake was much better with the usual QOL improvements like EXP share etc. However, the Pokédex is still terrible, way too many Pokémon locked to post game.

Definitely interested in playing Platinum now to see how that improved on Diamond/Pearl.

For once the Nintendo store's "register your interest" thing worked for me as I've been able to preorder a copy of the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition Deluxe Set that comes with all those cool extras and a physical version of the game of course.

Had so many instances in the past where I had registered my interest but then never got the follow up email and missed out on their limited editions. It's nice to have it finally work.

Potato quality screenshot, but I beat the Elite Four in Pokémon SoulSilver last night so now I'm on to Kanto for the other gyms.

I ended up switching out Xatu for Lugia as I realised I haven't used a Legendary in literal decades now so why not do it this go round. Don't think I could've beaten Lance without it!

I've never caught a Heracross this early in a playthrough before. I had been headbutting trees all over as I quite liked the idea of using a Forretress this time around, but fate has provided me with a Pokémon that should make Whitney's Miltank a little less difficult later on!

Most of my gaming time recently has been spent shiny hunting in Pokémon Scarlet with my eldest which has been a lot of fun (pics of my shinies to come).

Tonight I went for a change of pace and have been playing Mario VS Donkey Kong on the Switch. It's been so long since I played it on the GBA it's all new to me again. Its slower pace is just what I needed, and not too challenging on the old brain 😅

I've been looking forward to Opus Echo of Starsong for a while now, especially with the physical release coming out a lot later than the digital one.

It's finally here but it has the dreaded download required messaging on the front. The back of the box says a 4GB download is required. Hoping it ends up being optional language support but the box doesn't indicate anything.

Text on the back of the box for Opus indicating a download is required for the game. The text states: Game requires download of at least 4GB. MicroSD card recommend (sold separately). Storage requirements may change etc.

That's the Mercury Lighthouse area defeated in Golden Sun. I'm having so much fun with this game, especially figuring out the best way to use all the different Djinn I'm finding. Continuing to have my jaw drop during some of the battle animations and how good it looks.

Also, Imil just looks beautiful but I'm a sucker for a good snowy village.

If you're wanting a physical copy of Sea Of Stars but aren't super enthused by the extra cost tied to iam8bit's exclusive version, I've seen the regular physical version for sale on Amazon now for £35 which is a much better price.

I believe the regular version also releases sooner as well so I've opted for this one myself.

Unexpected second delivery today! Managed to grab FF Pixel Remaster and Persona 5 Strikers from videogamesplus. Persona was only $20 Canadian, an absolute steal.

And then there's the Another Code collection out today too. I loved the original DS version but never played the Wii one. I'm hoping my life craziness is over now so I can start playing Switch again.

Managed to grab this from LRG when they snuck some copies on to the store around the holiday break.

Not too fussed about Ghoul Patrol to be honest, but I loved Zombies on the SNES and always regretted getting rid of it when I was a kid. Now I have a nice physical version again but this time on Switch!

Life has gotten in the way hard this month meaning I haven't played any games for over a week. My Persona 5 progress has sadly ground to a halt, as I just have no time to play it.

Hopefully I'll be able to get back to it soon as I was really starting to get into it after completing the first Palace.
