SirDankbud,

I started a permanent loblaws boycott this week. Won’t be shopping at any of the other big names either. Preparing to participate in the boycott led me to sign up for a co op that I should’ve been using all along and I don’t see myself ever going back. Anything they don’t carry I can get at a local independent grocer and they’re usually a little cheaper than no frills anyway.

Co ops are a solution to corporate greed, use them whenever possible.

SirDankbud,

I haven’t gagged this hard at a picture on the internet since my last look at the original rotten.com over 20 years ago. Good job OP!

SirDankbud,

Finland believes prison is for rehabilitating people more than punishing them. Seven years is plenty of time to provide the therapy required to fix someone like this.

SirDankbud,

Seems like Michael Scott is suffering from pinus envy

SirDankbud,

Pretty sure The Most Unwanted Song takes the cake on that front. It has bagpipes and opera rap! Good luck listening all the way through. youtu.be/-gPuH1yeZ08?si=NRXK7GH9qnDbGt3H

SirDankbud,

Without Oldboy on the list at all, I can’t take the site or the author seriously. None of those movies even come close to the horrifying revenge of Oldboy. It evokes a special kind of darkness that stays with you long after viewing.

To those in this thread who may not have seen it yet, make sure you watch the original Korean movie. The makers of the American version didn’t have the balls to get the story right.

SirDankbud,

I think taping her own mouth shut is her way of proving the wolf wasn’t tortured. She’s completely oblivious to the pain of the animal being run over, then dragged around while injured and restrained. It should come as no surprise that she supports the actions of the monster she created.

SirDankbud,

The article ULS linked specifically says “ran it over with a snowmobile” on the third paragraph.

SirDankbud,

This is a 9 year old article about a guy who isn’t in politics anymore. Still crazy and all, but this was in 2015.

SirDankbud,

Not only do they look pretty, they sing pretty too. I did a lot of tree planting in my twenties and these beauties would sometimes appear to hang out and sing with me while I worked.

SirDankbud,

Yes. I still use my classic regularly. 20 000+ songs on it without ever being connected to itunes. Rhythmbox for linux works great when I want to switch things up. Winamp did the job back when I was still using windows. Maybe you were forced to use itunes briefly back when the ipod was first released, but it didn’t take long for other programmers to figure out how to make their software compatible.

SirDankbud,

This is really disappointing. The game does give off GOTY vibes until you realize big issues like only having one save file you can fully control, intentially vague dialogue for key quest details, and bad AI. All of which just happens to encourage mistakes that can only be fixed using items which are very limited without microtransactions. Its like an MBA took over in the final phase of development and made it a sleazy moneygrab. The fact that it is a hit means we can expect more developers to adopt this tactic and take it further. Capcom has become EA.

Thankfully I was able to get a refund on Dragons Dogma and used that money to buy Rise of the Ronin. Was not disappointed. They are very similar games but Rise of the Ronin has all the QoL features gamers have come to expect like unlimitted fast travel and saves.

SirDankbud,

It absolutely is. Wakestones are limited without microtransactions and there are plenty of poorly explained quests where one could easily kill something they shouldn’t. It happened to me. I even saved right before to try and be safe only for the game to autosave over the second the npc attacked me. The only save you have full control over is your second save tied to the inns, which are expensive and inferior to camping due to the buffs camping provides.

SirDankbud,

Didn’t know you can get Battahl in 2 hours. You may be a speedrunner, but don’t assume others are too.

SirDankbud,

Sure if 20 hours in isn’t far. I was at Battahl when I returned the game

SirDankbud,

I was pointing out the idiocy of your petty assumption by stating I was at Battahl. Pretty sure its impossible to get there in only two hours.

SirDankbud,

I appreciate the reasoned response. Maybe by the end of the game the pay items don’t feel limited, but they did in the first 20 hours I played before returning it.

If I was disappointed solely at the sales compared to my dislike then you’re right to think its nonsense. What I’m disappointed in is a business I have loyally and regularly purchased from for over 30 years compromising their product and making it worse to try and fleece more money. I also worry deeply that the game selling well despite the flak means every major developer will find their own way to follow suit and refine the tactic until it becomes the norm.

SirDankbud,

That’s only around 6k per student for the regions suing. I would argue Meta and co have done more than that in damage to each student and have likely also earned more than that off of each student. That money could do A LOT for our underfunded schools. Maybe they could finally teach everyone the dangers of using social media provided by companies with no morals who prefer to profit off of genocide and strife.

SirDankbud,

Endometriosis is more common than people without vaginas realize and it often goes undiagnosed. My wife was gaslit about the pain of gyno procedures for two whole decades until the a doctor finally diagnosed her. A diagnosis which only came due a tubal ligation procedure forcing the doctors to physically see all the scar tissue inside her.

SirDankbud,

This is why my wife and I got matching tattoos. I have a tattoo of her butt on my butt and she has mine on hers. Its cute to us but big enough that it would be very off putting to others if either of us tried to cheat. It also cost pretty much nothing because she’s a tattoo artist.

I highly recommend anyone looking to marry to work with their partner to find your own personalized symbol. It will cost less and bring you closer together.

SirDankbud,

Nah but a coworker did it for free so all it cost us was the ink.

SirDankbud,

When loading the game you only get to choose between your last save which is constantly autosaved over and the autosave it takes when you use an inn. Using an inn is expensive and inferior to camping which gives major buffs and costs nothing. So basically you have to spend a decent portion of your game currency as the only way to have a reliable save point the game won’t randomly overwrite.

Only one character per account too so don’t even think about experimenting. Unless of course you don’t mind paying real money to stock up on items that undo the consequences of experimenting.

SirDankbud,

The game has been out for only a few days. Many of us are learning the hard way why its bad. Because as I stated above, if you take out the sleazy greed mechanics and add a few bug fixes, the game is perfect. I was around 20 hours in when I realized the stupidity with saves and the expansive greed. Up until then, I would’ve told you its easily 2024 GOTY. It looks good, runs well on my ps5, the combat is both fun and diverse, the map is huge with very little empty space, the story is well written, and the pawn system is a creative way of making you feel like you’re playing with others despite the game being single player.

Imagine if Baldurs Gate 3 was a free to play game rife with microtransactions, but it was built in such a way that it wasn’t obvious until the second act. That’s Dragons Dogma 2. Somewhere in that code is a real masterpiece of gaming, its just been killed by greed.

SirDankbud,

I know, but it feels like review bombing when you type one out on every platform you can find in a few hours in a fit of rage and disappointment. I feel swindled to such an extent that Capcom is now equal to EA in my mind. I had bought at least one Capcom game a year for the last three decades and now they won’t get another cent from me.
