SlothMama,

Ukraine is absolutely not winning, but propaganda and deception is really important in war. It’s important for Ukraine to have the world think they have a chance otherwise people are less likely to assist in a lost cause.

SlothMama,

It’s absolutely a forgone conclusion and your assertions are unhinged. Ukraine is losing eminently, and actively. They have lost, permanently a lot of territory and have trouble keeping the lights on. The economy is entirely decimated and without foreign weapons and monetary aid they would fall within weeks.

SlothMama,

Early Bluetooth devices used numeric codes that basically made this impossible to happen.

SlothMama,

I want a whole Lemmy subreddit ( community? ) of the AI overviews gone wild like this, it’s funny af

SlothMama,

What? This reads like what a lot of politicians actually say, including American politicians that site God and the Bible as their grounding, and declaring themselves as an instrument to God.

This doesn’t read as outlandish to me at all, if you pay attention to people in general, this is a commonly used statement.

SlothMama,

It’s a stupid comment practice where they claim ownership of their comment and place what they think is a binding and effective license against AI using that comment.

It literally does nothing. This is the modern equivalent of making a post on Facebook to assert that you have rights and control of your comments there.

Beyond the tools for editing and deletion you have no such rights in the Fediverse and it’s a good way to demonstrate you don’t understand how anything works.

Nothing stops anyone or any entity from indexing, ingesting, or scraping federated content.

SlothMama,

Largely agree but I think there are one it two more camps.

  • People who feel threatened to irrelevance as artists trying to use art as their primary means to make money
  • People who realize that CEOs and higher up people in companies actually do intend to replace human workers as soon as they can, even before it’s properly viable.

I’m pro AI, but I largely see the AI backlash as inventing complex moral justification to oppose it when the core issues are it’s impact on the livelihood of artists under capitalism.

Obviously AI art is just as valid as human art, and there is nothing inherently special about human creations. We are actually just biological machines and our behavior and output is easily emulatable.

SlothMama,

Halo Wars made a dent. It had marketing.

SlothMama,

Does this irradiate us? I mean, if this is the result of a CME, and the atmosphere is responding to it, isn’t a natural conclusion that we’re receiving a measurable amount of radiation across the globe throughout this event?

SlothMama,

You probably could.

SlothMama,

I watched with no sound and from pure behavior I’m certain he is aware it’s there and is likely involved

Men behind the doomsday seed vault in the Arctic win World Food Prize (apnews.com)

As Cary Fowler and Geoffrey Hawtin began thinking about ways to prevent starvation and protect the world’s food supply, they came up with what Fowler called “the craziest idea anybody ever had” — a https://apnews.com/general-news-international-news-c7510518d0c9428782d06d0235f5783a built into the side of an Arctic...

SlothMama,

I’m constantly reminded by how brilliant Frostpunk is

SlothMama,

Try Torment: Tides of Numenara. It’s a hidden gem no one talks about.

SlothMama,

I assumed this was an Onion article by the title. It’s not.

SlothMama,

It was changed. It had a EULA, but that didn’t include the requirement for a PSN account

SlothMama,

I remember the Third Party EULA only.

SlothMama,

That isn’t how anything works. This is like those people on Facebook posting their voodoo chainmail posts about their comments and profiles. You don’t own your comments to transfer a license in the first place.

What animated film or tv show is this? (i.imgur.com)

For me the first thing that comes to mind is Tales from Earthsea. I don’t think it’s excellent or anything and has plenty of problems but people act like it killed their dog. While it has its problems that have been covered extensively, I think it has a beautiful atmosphere and art....

SlothMama,

Love The Last Airbender movie and people basically think I’m trolling when I share that. I’ve watched it multiple times, I love it, I like it better than the Netflix series even. One of my all time favorite movies.

SlothMama,

It’s so irritating how people try to tell me my opinion on this movie is wrong. Yes, I’m absolutely completely serious, and I know other people that enjoy it too.

Try to spend time off the Internet hivemind and realize that most people’s opinions are themselves actually viral.

I also unironically love Forspoken and count it among the best games I’ve ever played. I think it’s not even close to as bad as people claim and the opinion that it’s bad it’s viral and mited in social momentum.

I form my own, independent ideas on things I like and typically disregard the opinions of others. I am not trolling, I love the movie, it’s one of my favorites.

How dare someone vote me down for expressing my opinions.
