Soup,

The hospital reduced the payment after learning he was uninsured? Is that like how itemized receipts make it cheaper because it’s all designed to shaft insurance companies who then just shaft their clients to not lose any money?

Also fuck the people who actually enforced that rule on the boat and anyone who would threaten their jobs if they didn’t.

Just another reason to avoid cruises, I guess.

Soup,

Well that’s fucked up. Jesus.

Soup,

If my cat could crawl into his auto-feeder he would live inside it. That thing looks like there’s some sorta way in and I’ll bet all my bones that the cat had plenty of will.

Soup,

Relying on a hope that someone will do good is, and always has been, a terrible idea. We need to fix that shit at its core.

Soup,

“Almost a third on rent”? What utopia do they live in?

Right now a simple 2bd apartment averages $2450 where I live and this was always know as the cheap Canadian city! Bonkers!

Soup,

Oh look at “can live with their parents” over here. How luxurious!

Soup,

It’s a parody if you’re so defensive you misunderstand the difference between a personal vehicle and a firetruck, I suppose.

When the big street near me turns pedestrian there’s always bollard access for delivery vehicles to all the shops. They aren’t the huge, permanent kind but the sorta that a firetruck or ambulance could absolutely plow right through. Traffic going perpendicular is slow enough that they don’t need to be there for safety so it works super well.

Basically every argument against the idea that maybe cars don’t need to be on every single street requires an astounding level of ignorance and an equal amount of desire to not change that lack of knowledge. Just let it happen, it’s ok.

Soup,

My dad’s the same way, you put it into words perfectly. It sucks because like that would be so wonderful to have backing up good causes but they just can’t for some reason.

My dad genuinely believes that the Conservative party leader is a good dude that “I know and I can talk to” simply because he lives in that guy’s riding the dude did some door-to-door stuff a long time ago. Because he’s seen him in person it’s far too difficult to question the guy’s shitty policies and behaviour.

I genuinely don’t even know if it’s kindness or not. It’s such a strange thing to me, to be nearly unable to be mean to someone you’ve seen in person and yet so profoundly dismissive to someone else just because you can’t concieve of their life as being “real” without having them right in front of yo- oh, maybe that’s it.

Soup,

We’d get to watch Microsoft somehow destroy it, which would be as amazing as it would be awful. They really know how to make a great product terrible.

Though, who am I kidding, they’d just close the entire thing down and expect people to switch to their store. That’s all capitalism’s “competition” is good for these days.

Soup,

Ah, I misread(the y in “they” is missing and I got thrown off haha)

Dude that would be funny as hell and Microsoft fucking deserves it. They don’t make a single quality product; all they seem to be able to do is reskin a ‘90s Windows OS as a worse product for ten thousandth time and close competitors so they don’t need to do any real work.

Soup,

Considering what an awful job they do with everything they touch maybe we should just can the whole company and give that back to the people of the world who’ve needed to suffer under their bullshit for far too long.

They can keep some money for Excel, I guess.

Soup,
  1. Not talking about your house being a huge mess and it’s clearly bothering you.
  2. Being supportive of your partner’s passions even if they aren’t so good at it yet.
Soup,

Can anyone explain who they are to non-fan(or just someone who’s largely ignorant, I suppose)? I’ll read a wiki just don’t know what to search.

Soup,

Damn, the wiki is just like “I don’t know many times I gotta tell ya, they’re fucked up murder machines”.

Soup,

I wonder how many times we can find Republicans referencing Hunter Biden? Or any number of things they claim beyond simply stating a fact like “Trump is currently charged with…[insert charge but not claim of guilt]”.

Soup,

I did that with a 2010 17” MacBook Pro. It had Windows for games and Mac OSX when I wanted a reliable computer. Finally died on me in ~2022 but otherwise was doing fine. I switched to a tower for games in 2018 and now my friend and I(mostly my far more savvy friend) and working out how to make Linux work reliably because Windows is…ya know.

Soup,

And they’re going to have to accept the fact that yes, actually, they did die for nothing. No one asked them to do this, they killed how many Ukranians who were minding their own business and now we have to be careful about their feelings? I don’t want innocent but scared Russians to be punished either but I’m not going to put their feelings over the safety of Ukrainians.

I doubt the Ukranians would be happy to lose even more of their land. Crimea showed that Russia will just wait another few years and try the same shit again, banking on Ukrainians just wanting peace.

Soup,

The way to look at the word is that you cannot occupy what is yours in this context. While you do technically occupy your home it would be very strange that you’re in “Pubquiz occupied Pubquiz territory”.

Soup,

The police also tried to calm him down by whining about how “hard” their job is and tried to bitch about him “making a scene”. They really have zero empathy and probably aren’t even capable of understanding how the entire outcome was their fault. The definition of “why did you make me abuse you?”.

The Biden Campaign Has a Trump-Fatigue Problem (nymag.com)

Joe Biden’s campaign is facing a strategic dilemma. Since the president’s job-approval ratings have been consistently low, his path to reelection depends on making 2024 a comparative choice between himself and Donald Trump, his scary, extremist predecessor. That task is becoming more urgent as evidence emerges that a sizable...

Soup,

Almost like he should just listen to the voters and also all the fucking scientists and economists if he wants to energize tired voters.

“Stop selling Israel weapons.” “Be more aggressive with climate policy, we’re already late and can’t dilly-dally anymore.” “Oh my god just actually make a fucking effort instead of offering lukewarm responses all the time.”

It’s not hard, and the science backs up the demands.

Soup,

A genius rebuttal, why didn’t I think of that?

Soup,

The video’s not that long and the thumbnail is fine, dude. The content is clear and uses Jesse Lyu’s own words, his own voice even, to spotlight how stupid this whole thing is.

You mad your Rabbit purchase turned out to be shit or something? What’s your angle here?

Soup,

17min really isn’t that much time and not every minute needs to be fully optimized. I mean, you found the time to bitch about a YouTuber not making an article which is far less time but infinitely more worthless.

And yes, I do I hope I find a job soon. It’s rough out there.

If you really want someone to make it easy for you, basically Lyu has made some absolutely bonkers promises under the old company name from making a carbon negative crypto-currency attached to real-world solar grids using NFTs as a sort of stock option all the way to promising that they’d invent an AI powered digital universe that would be so advanced that it would basically mirror real life. He said all that and declared not only a roughly two year timeline but also that ten years wouldn’t be necessary.

And yet now he and his company can’t even produce this Rabbit thing in a way that can even barely function. Once again, tech bros are showing just how much “idea people” are kinda worthless when they have zero concept of how to execute literally anything with any depth. Venture Capitalists are also once again proving how stupid they are for believing this crap again.

I’m not sure why the length of the video is upsetting you so much. I hope you find more time in your life for suboptimal things. Maybe you should by a vibrator and experience some pleasure.

Soup,

Yes, because what we really need is to incentivize more usage of fossil fuels.

Soup,

The EV thing isn’t the worst, though I’d like to see that money going towards public transportation for more people. It’ll always be better and all that really does is help the rich stay richer while poorer folk still need to buy used gas-powered vehicles until a used EV market picks up.

Maybe it’s in there and I just didn’t see it but the biggest issue with the CAFE laws is that there are exceptions for huge vehicles that no one needs which makes them cheaper to manufacture. A smaller, lighter wagon will generally have more space, actually, and be better on fuel but no one makes them because they realized they could just pump ads at people focused on “feeling powerful” in large vehicles. You can also make the wagons EV and the smaller size and weight will improve their range, too. You’re looking at how things are instead of how they easily could be(and were not too long ago).

I know Biden’s done ok with some stuff but it’s still kinda weak and the fact that he’s looking for a pat on the back for the bare minimum is kinda pathetic. And people still have to vote for the dumbass because the DNC won’t let anyone better come forward and the GOP are a disaster like no other.
