SpaghettiYeti,

Let’s say it’s 200 pages even. You took a little less than a minute per page to read, think about, and type about topics with your friend?

Methinks dishonesty afoot.

SpaghettiYeti,

Just recycled my printer due to this. Totally worth the inconvenience to not support shitty practices and the environmental impact of so many personal printers that only get used once or twice a year before ink dries.

SpaghettiYeti,

Interesting. Who is the seemingly random person posting on a forum about human biomes? Do you have a peer reviewed paper on it?

SpaghettiYeti, (edited )

I keep my house at 55 during the week and 60 on weekends. 51 at night.

Edit: I sleep with a window open even when it’s 10 degrees out and I have a window fan to pull that fresh air in. My wife tolerates it, but I get snuggled more because I run so hot, so it’s a win.

SpaghettiYeti,

There are variations of this all over. I have one that’s black in Gothic fonts next to my front door. People love it. Highly recommend.

SpaghettiYeti,

Is thread tape going to be safe?

SpaghettiYeti,

I meant more so because of the extreme heat it will go through. It may melt or leech chemicals into your coffee.

VR headset for people with glasses?

A few years back I got my brother’s old htc vive VR headset. While I did greatly enjoy playing beat saber on it, I eventually stopped using it as it required me to take off my glasses. I can see semi-okay without glasses but it really tires me quickly and at the end of the day it was a no-go. My glasses don’t fit inside the...

SpaghettiYeti,

Dunno about other headsets, but the quest 2 has a spacer you can buy so you can wear glasses. That being said, better to get a lens insert or wear contacts because of fog.

SpaghettiYeti,

Never heard of this being a status symbol in the US… what a dumb notion.

SpaghettiYeti,

Am millennial. Wtf people are dumb.

SpaghettiYeti,

Weirdly, I’m in the opposite boat. I have solar, I grew up with an electric oven/stovetop and my previous house had an induction stovetop. I hate, and I mean hate induction and electric for stovetops.

My new house has gas and it is just the best. I love cooking on my wok, my pans heat up in no time, and I feel like I can gauge and control the heat better.

Yes, air flow, exhaust, and air purifying is taken into account to use it safely too in my home.

SpaghettiYeti,

1855 handbook from the freemasons detailing their rituals, imagery, ranks, and more.

SpaghettiYeti,

I miss the days of opening Steam and being able to search a million servers to find the specific niche type of game I wanted in CS. Warcraft, custom maps, zombie… So fun

SpaghettiYeti,

Still waiting for this care in New Hampshire for all the forever chemicals in the waterways and ground water…

SpaghettiYeti,

I bought one of these style combs once before. I was using it in a bar and the bartender found me and was like, “so buddy, what’s up with the knife? Can you put that away?”

I showed him it was a comb and he laughed. Thankful that no one called the cops. That would have been awkward… needless to say it’s not a good idea to use this lol

SpaghettiYeti,

Well, it’s simple. The majority of the US is liberal too.

SpaghettiYeti,

Bought in 2020 and locked in 2.65%. It’s a bit of a fixer upper due to the previous home owners’ neglect. About $60k in repairs and improvements so far has it feeling more and more like a home. The house value has risen more than I put into it.

My wife and I say almost weekly how bad we feel for others and how lucky we were. The timing was impeccable. Cashed out our 401k, used covid relief checks, and went from a 600sq ft cabin on family property to a 2k+ sq home we owned.

Super, super lucky.

SpaghettiYeti,

Absolutely lucky. Thanks!

We increased our contributions to what we can afford and went from $0 in 2020 to $52k now. Just keeping on keeping on.

Trying to pay down all other outstanding debt (car, solar loan) higher than what we can make back through other investments. My wife has a job that will match 7% after a vesting period, so we’re waiting for that nice bump to really figure things out from there.

SpaghettiYeti,

In the US at least, I haven’t heard of a provider not allowing you to bring your own hardware. For example, on Comcast, you can bring your own DOCSIS 3.1 modem that isn’t as full of software and doesn’t allow neighbors to use an Xfinity public network. Comcast even has a page for compatible devices. Save on stupid rental fees.
