@neatchee The Manga returning is one of the best things that happened to me in a while :D

- The last couple of weeks, I got down the rabbit hole of music from the current French Pop and EDM scenes and modern Italo Disco music. I haven't felt the need to hit some dance floors as much as right now for years, which is quite the hassle. It seems rather impossible to find a club that can fulfill my needs in central Germany.

- I also picked up It Looks Like My Son Has Been Reincarnated into Another World recently. The Manga explores the very unique way a mother handles her grief after losing her son. After getting obsessed over his LN collection, she convinced herself that her son got isekai'd and meets up with the weeb from her high school class to get help with following her son.
It's a very interesting premise with a lot of potential. So far, I've read one volume and I'll definitely continue reading it, even if I have to pick a few bones with it in the following toot...

For my long-running project of reading all Year 24 Group Manga, I recently picked up Hagio Motos "They Were Eleven" (1975). It was a fine Manga, but it's also far from my favorite from the Group or even Hagio Moto herself.

It feels like the art took a step back, compared to The Poe Clan, which seems rather sad, considering it was its strongest feature.

Aside from that, the story actually has some great aspects, a good mystery (with a somewhat lackluster reveal), interesting ideas about different cultures in space and a lot of drama. It made a fun 4 chapter read. Overall, it's not amazing, but I'd still recommend it 👌👌

@gnitro I, on the other hand, haven't seen the movie yet, but I'll consider picking it up after some time has passed between reading and watching

I'm convinced we'd live in a better world today if the Step Up movies were as brave as Fast & Furious. The gang should be dancing around the world to stop some weird villains and their submarine tanks.

I'm so glad right now! I love the Manga and one of my highlights was always the art (which can be rough sometimes in this shitty genre 😅😅). The teaser looks just as good and I can't wait for more people to get into this series. It always feels a bit underrated (More like people don't know about it).

One of my resolutions for 2024 was to get into a new hobby I can do at home, which doesn't include any electronics. Well, it seems like I officially entered my own villainess isekai arc.

I'm actually pretty happy with the result, considering it was my first try and I just looked up a variety of stitches and a pattern, but didn't look into how to incorporate them the best way possible.

@geraineon Thanks. There's still a lot to improve on, but I'll do my best 💪💪

I know, I know! I shouldn't expect too much from the genre, but I'm still baffled by the level of decline in story and animation with every new Shield Hero season.

On another note, I also started watching Bubblegum Crisis today. The first episode was a blast and the visuals were amazing. I'm also a sucker for the way anime women looked in the 80s/90s.

Regarding OVAs, the show is just checking boxes on an OVA bingo card, but I'm not sure if they were just copying or if they were the trendsetter :D

@gnitro The music is definitely amazing so far. The ending song was stuck in my head for hours.

I don't need much to get excited for new material of one of the best Isekai shows. I'm already aboard the hype train.

- These specials are such a huge reminder why Donna's my favorite.

To,
@To@urusai.social avatar

@geraineon It's the same for me. I lost interest during the second half of Moffat as a showrunner. Had the spot for way too long. I got excited again after the announcement that RTD will be back for the new season and the casting of the new doctor.
The specials are just a nice treat before the new season begins. They're featuring not only Donna, but Ten is also back. The most iconic duo!

To,
@To@urusai.social avatar

@geraineon I always said Moffat is an amazing writer for episodes (Wrote some of the best during Nine and Ten), but overrated as a showrunner. He tried to increase the scale with every season until it became silly :/ I tried to get back into it when he left the position with the introduction of Thirteen and I liked her first season, but I didn't get invested enough to return to it afterwards.

To,
@To@urusai.social avatar

@cthellis @geraineon I'm fine with the Matt Smith era, aside from small choices I hate (like what's inside the Doctors Hotel room). I also like Capaldi as a Doctor a lot, but the writing was horrendous during the beginning of his run and I didn't bother to watch the part people consider better.

There's a lot of potential with Ncuti. He's a great actor. The new RTD stuff was fun, so far. It also got back the childish silliness of the early seasons.

I got the feeling that the special actually intends to get back fans that dropped off during the last two doctors. It feels made for us and like a fresh start and clean cut with Special 3.

- I wasn't as excited for an Isekai Anime in a long while as I am for The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magic. It's already one of my favorite Manga in the genre, and the animation also looks neat. Can't wait to watch this one.

To,
@To@urusai.social avatar

@geraineon The base is very generic. Three teenagers are getting isekai'd to fight a demon lord. One of them gets the healer attribute and becomes part of a Healing Corp that trains their body to the extreme while healing themselves to work out for a longer time (the wrong way to use it). During war, they need their stamina to run across the battlefield and carry the wounded back to the first aid tent.
The Manga is a bit silly, but it breathes some fresh air into the Healer sub-genre, the characters are very likable and surprisingly refreshing regardless of the known character tropes.

To,
@To@urusai.social avatar

@geraineon It's also a reasonable idea, but the self-heal idea allows for some hilarious moments.
