#Boom in a nutshell: Don't even move. Move and you're dead. The landmines explode fast, faster than you could believe. Don't stretch your back, don't step away, and don't move! #DoctorWho
What if RTD were to cast both Carroll Anne Ford and Susan Twist as characters named Susan, but they're just random characters, potentially even just minor cameos like what June Hudson got in The Devil's Cord.
rtd announced as new show runner Certain people: yay! He'll fix the wokeness!
RTD: The woke will continue until society improves. Then it'll continue anyways because that's a better representation of humanity.
My son came into the room a few minutes ago and said, “You know what we should do? We should watch an episode of #DoctorWho from back when it was good.”
Huh. There has been new Doctor Who available for four days and I've not even noticed. Two episodes released back to back, even.
Possibly my low excitement/engagement is due to the deeply underwhelming New Year episode, coupled with a lot of my reasons for hatng RTD becoming very visible as the Tennant specials aired.
I'm not gunna fall into the well-trodden comedy routine of proclaiming it's ruined or tell the entire Earth I'm never watching the show again, but at this moment in time my enthusiasm seems to be sleeping a bit.
Hopefully these two new eps are the greatest Who ever and I'll be back to raving about it again, but I gotta say I'm not hopeful. I am looking forward to seeing Jinkx Monsoon, though, to my mind still the best talent to emerge from Drag Race. And the next episode is written by one Steven Moffat, gentleman and fellow Scot; here's hoping "Boom" is nothing like "Kablam" and is another "Blink" in waiting.
🆕 blog! “When does Doctor Who meet historical figures who are alive today?”

Macca is unusual because we could, theoretically, call him and ask what it was like meeting The Doctor1.
So, how many times has The Doctor met a historical figure who is alive in the viewers' time?
Not many, by my count. There are a few people who play themselves (like Brian Cox and the band McFly) but don't actually meet The Doctor. There are many people who are real, but dead (like Agatha Christie). If I stick to the main TV series, I think the contenders are...
Sylvester McCoy's 1988 story The Silver Nemesis sees him sort of meet both the musician Courtney Pine and almost Queen Elizabeth II (died 2022). The Queen mentions knowing The Doctor towards the end of 2007's The Voyage of The Damned
We do not talk about Colin Baker's 1985 story A Fix with Sontarans!
William Hartnell's Doctor meets Bing Crosby and Charlie Chaplain (both died 1977) in the 1965 story The Dalek's Master Plan which, sadly, is lost to the ages. While there are photos, I don't think a clip survives.
Are there any others that I missed? Stick a note in the comments!
I've tried, but his office aren't returning my calls. ↩

This is a greally great and insightful interview with #StevenMoffat about #DoctorWho under RTD. The show is planned and shot a year head. We will never face the same situation with Chibnall again any time soon. So good news!
