Before even getting into the episode, I must complain about the episode art: The highway sign says “ROUTE” and has the shape of a US Highway shield (which is often called “route”, so that’s correct), but is then colored like an Interstate Highway shield, which is a very different system and should not be confused (US (and state) routes are basically just normal roads, just higher priority, and Interstate highways are major controlled-access thoroughfares with much stricter design standards)

It’s caused by a user on another non-Lemmy, non-Mastodon fediverse platform. The lemmy web UI doesnt have a problem with them, but I think Sync doesn’t know how to deal with displaying a username from an unfamiliar platform

On one hand, it’s nice that the comics here are gaining enough traction to “break containment” and introduce others to the show.

On the other hand, the comics are a terrible first introduction because they expect you to have already watched the entire show to get the context (and then there’s Owl House: The Next Generation, which also requires you to have read Mark’s back catalog to catch up on his additions to the story)

Knowing some Russian/Cyrillic, I beat them to the actual meaning, but was still annoyed I didn’t make that jump myself. Though maybe if I had written it down, it would’ve been more obvious: Kohuept / Концерт.
