Doesn’t it suck that we can’t tell what is real? I mean the internet has always been full of BS… but still… I guess since I don’t post often, I’m just not used to people (prudently) being skeptical of my reality.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. I did find a link to an existing star system online: “Israel Hands”. Someone “discovered” it in 2018. nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/Israel_HandsI’m still figuring out their RNG, so I don’t know if this is part of their vocab or part of the curated content.
I mean, would they even notice if I sent an email? Seem like it’s either a very rare artifact they wouldn’t bother fixing, or they did it on purpose (and wouldn’t bother fixing).
Oh, that’s interesting. So perhaps this is pulling text from human-named systems? I guess that’s more understandable. Still something they could moderate better.
Love the blast effects. One critique is that it is really hard to see the main character with so many brighter splashes going on. Perhaps use a higher contrast pallet, or use a glowing outline? Would it be feasible to add a simple lighting to the player, so it lit up one one side with each flash of light?
Wow, that’s a great help! I love the look of the K860 - it’s like a sculpt clone. I would buy one right away, but now you’ve gotten me interested in checking out all these others… Is there somewhere I can try this stuff out?
I let people rate how much they like different things on a scale of 1-10. How do I actually tell if people like one thing more than another thing if the sample sizes are different? This is not about any real scientific study, more like a personal test :)...
You could use a few different null hypotheses here. One with minimal assumptions would be that the medians are equal. This can be tested using the Mann-Whitney U test. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mann–Whitney_U_test
Thank you for this recipe! Just tried it out with one substitution - white whole-wheat instead of AP four. Not a great idea… I will have to try again sometime.

Yes, finally. No one I know has played it, and there seems to be little interest in trying. The game consists of perfect mind-bending puzzles, with no duplicate “tricks” - just a steady growth of what is considered outside-the-box thinking.
Just completed this one myself - and yeah, amazing. I am sooo happy I went in not knowing anything. Figuring out what needs figuring out is half the fun.
I both love this game and hate that I could never beat the final boss. Even after defeating the “harder” optional stuff. My Dark Souls training is punished hard by the combat system. (I love to hate it though - just so satisfying.)
I don’t think that’s true. I got pretty good at this as a kid and was able to hit the mark much more often than random. The trick was pressing the button a bit earlier than center.
Has anyone else seen this? (lemmy.world)
New player here. A bit surprised to see this mission “procedurally” generated. Has anyone else seen this?

Replacement for Microsoft Sculpt Ergo?
I love the Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard, but they were discontinued earlier this year. Can anyone recommend a replacement?...
How do I calculate if a test like this is statistically significant?
