barcaxavi,

Father of a 1,5 year old here. First off, I was kind of the same. But maybe we didn’t have a huge difference in our feelings with the wife. As many have wrote, holding the child for the first time is really something, then her first smile, and the first day spent together just the 2 of us, hearing “Daddy” when you get home…

I understand the anxiety but you shouldn’t get ahead of yourself and think about the problems. One good reasons for this from our example: our child sleeps from 9 to 7 with walking up just a few sips of water once or twice. I would never guessed this before and would have been silly to be anxious about it.

You’ll be fine, just be sure to support your wife in this time and the feelings will come.

barcaxavi,

300 searches/month feels tight for my use case. How do you manage? Are you using something else for search?

I’m using DDG and I’m ok with it, every one out two time a month I check Google results for some topic, and DDG seems to do well.

barcaxavi,

None of these feel like essential feature for me, I’ll be still more happy using a custom ROM.

barcaxavi,

One of the songs that turned me more into hip-hop. No dissing, no “bitches”, no Crystal… Just a great sample, production and storytelling.

barcaxavi,

Can’t disagree more. I feel it’s not even close on quality to his travel shows he made for the late night. The Korean video with the teacher, the German when he’s drinking with Flula, the Israeli one when he’s joining some group of friends… I can’t think of one which is not more entertaining then any ~8 minute segment of this new show. Still ok, but quite far from the best performances of Conan.

I was already thinking about this before and I think having more tools, more time, more money is actually getting the worth out of Conan. He thrives in situations where it’s less of these and he has to be creative.

barcaxavi,

This kinda sucks, but at least you can still use the Quick connect tile.

barcaxavi,

I use LogSeq at work. I have a lot of meetings, making a lot of notes and it’s just so easy to put all of them into the right hashtags/topic/whatever. When used right, it really needs 0 extra organisational work. It’s also really future-proof, easy to sync and also works on mobile.

barcaxavi,

Not a particular one. Just start using it, if you know markdown, you’re halfway there. “/” Will l will give you some options, also “[[]]” and “#” are creating separate pages, which is the most important aspect of Logseq.

barcaxavi,

I feel like OP did the right thing by heart, and this story would have had a different ending in a country with different gun laws and history of gun violence. Also if the case really is OP was let go to show others that they should not engage in this “reckless behaviour” I feel it at least it should have been communicated as such when fired.

barcaxavi,

Totally get your point, and this is the logical way to think about it, but I’m not sure what decision I would make when I don’t have the time to think through.

Also, I don’t think we can be sure that this store policy is not about guns, at least in part. I’m not from the States, but when there’s the implication of more people seriously hurt in public, in the USA, that’s where my mind is.

barcaxavi,

That’s the only good thing in this story. It usually gets ugly when guns are also involved.

Do you see where I’m going here, or do I have to involve it in my story for you to see?

barcaxavi,

With the name order, yes. I’m also feeling this with the date format we’re using (YYYY.MM.DD.). And the list stops here, before we start talking how we use “on, at, to,…” plus other quirky grammar stuff.

barcaxavi,

I have just tried it out for a quite limited time, but ente also looks great.

GrapheneOS Should Support Android Auto In Next Release (grapheneos.social)

Android Auto support for our sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer has been merged into GrapheneOS and should be available in the next release. It’s currently going through final review and internal testing leading up to being able to make a public Alpha channel release....

barcaxavi,

What do you mean? I know it’s not baked in and not perfect, but running the work profile with the Shelter app is running fine for me.

Yes, Proton Drive for Linux is currently not being actively worked on/update: they lack developers, see post

Update: i went to reddit because there was an AMA from proton . There, they said: *The only reason why our Linux clients are lagging from a development is simply that it is extremely difficult to hire Linux Desktop developers....

barcaxavi,

Thanks for this! When did it happened? I thought I paid attention to changelogs, but it turns out I’m not

barcaxavi,

Definitely not on the cheap side, but maybe you won’t find one: the Hue ecosystem works quite fine for me for years now. I’m just setting up motion sensor and light on the bridge and then they are also discoverable by HA and then setting up automation inside HA. It would work the same with Hue power switch.

Once again, this is more pricey solution, but I’m also building my system gradually, so it’s manageable.

barcaxavi,

Not an answer to your question, just another one connected to it: Is using the same software for storing passwords and 2FA beating the whole purpose of 2FA in some way? For example if someone can get a hold of your proton account somehow, there’s no additional layer of security provided by the 2FA.

barcaxavi,

Understandable. I’m also struggling sometimes to find the right balance between comfort and security/privacy.

barcaxavi,

ProtonPass has mail aliases that work together with Proton Mail. I think they bought SimpleLogin some time ago. It could be a paid feature thought.

barcaxavi,

I have my navigation buttons turned off for years now, so I couldn’t disagree more.

barcaxavi,

As a Hungarian, I would never think about Orbán and co as useful. Idiots? For sure ✅

barcaxavi, (edited )

Bought Deathloop. I never was super excited about it, but it looks like it's worth 15EUR. Still thinking about Jedi Survivor, but I'm usually not spending that amount of money on games.

barcaxavi,

Rocking a 5T for more than 5 years now, and still quite satisfied with it. Before this phone I usually changed them every 2 years or so, but with this, I don't feel the need. Not saying I'm not tempted, and I did have to change battery and usb port midway, but other than that, it's a great device.

Looking at their price changes I'm not sure I would buy from their recent line of products though.
