My Dad has super high blood pressure and worries too much. He also won’t stop watching the news. I don’t know what I can do to break his bad habits that make this problem worse.

@idoubtit Could you like substitute him over to something like Ground News so he is getting a more balanced and less controversial, contentious, controversial, less drama llama hype cycle?

That there are people nerdy enough out there to get pictures, licence plates, VINs, and more for public trans bus fleets, and track when they enter service and get retired (and why) warms the cockles of a heart so often frozen and disgusted at humanity. <3

"Tea, Earl Grey, hot." — J.-L. Picard.

  • Teacup mass: 150 grams
  • Tea mass: 200 grams
  • Saucer mass: 100 grams
  • Total mass ≈ 450 grams
  • cup and saucer at room temperature 21°C at instant of replication
  • tea at 90°C at instant of replication

E = m × c²

E = 0.45 kg × 3.00×10⁸ m/s)²
E = 0.45 kg × 9.00×10¹⁶ m²/s²
E = 4.05×10¹⁶ kg·m²/s²
E = 4.05×10¹⁶ N·m
E = 4.05×10¹⁶ J

1 kWh = 3.6×10⁶ J

4.05×10¹⁶ J = 1.125×10¹⁰ kWh = 11.25 GWh for just the mass.

Q = m·C·ΔT

Qₜₑₐ = 200g × 4.186J/gK × (363.15K−0K) = 304,029.18 J

Q꜀ᵤₚ₊ₛₐᵤ꜀ₑᵣ = 250g × 0.84J/gK × (294.15K−0K) = 67,771.5 J

Qₜₒₜₐₗ = 365800.68 J = 1.016×10⁻⁴ GWh

So total energy required is 11.2501016 GWh

Canada had a total installed electrical generating capacity of about 154 GW in 2022.

So Canada has enough electricity to replicate ~13.69 cups of Earl Grey tea per hour.

If replicators existed. ;-)

In TNG-era , they replicated much larger things than a cup of tea, and who knows how much energy the replicator itself used for CPU processing power, memory, safety features, etc… to turn that 11.25GWh of energy into a cup of tea.

Can you imagine the infrastructure necessary to safely deliver multi-terawatt-hour electrical feeds to each and every house and apartment unit in Canada to enable the use of replicators as depicted in the very first episode of ?!?

I have a favourite ice cube tray. It has 2⁴ spots which means I can put 2² ice cubes in a drink 2² times before refilling the tray. What are the chances that because of undiagnosed in addition to my newly diagnosed ?

Moved some things to pin headers since they don't need to be on the PCB, and added the PCB design from the schematic. https://oshwlab.com/coryca/esp32-s3-pwm-fans

Added relays for the fans to turn them off as PWM only takes them down to about 30%.

Also made a bunch of parts changes for basic parts (cheaper) and some that reported incorrectly and were either expensive or not available.
