If Apple didn’t already have iWork, Final Cut, or Logic, would they make them now? Kind of hard to imagine that kind of investment in new software from them. What even comes close in the last fifteen years?

@ffg @eurobubba they might, although the lack of keyboard support on macOS kind of kills it for me. Either way I wouldn’t put the resources to make that kind of app remotely in the same category as Logic or iWork.

@harpaa01 Yeah, but the kind of resources to make a Freeform are definitely modest compared to those others. That’s not a knock against it, but it’s no Logic or Final Cut or iWork.

The guy who makes this lyric writing app, which is basically the app I would make, has been super responsive to my suggestions, going back and forth with me, and is implementing them in really nice ways.

Turns out it is pretty easy to take an SF Symbol, run it through folderify from Homebrew on the command line, and get something cool like this.

If the SF Symbols app were scriptable, or you could export symbols from the command line, I could probably make this automatic. As it is, I'd have to write a Swift app to do it, and it's not such a pain to do manually that I'm going to bother.

@kvangork not sure either, although I know a surprising amount of land in the west is federally owned, so 30% might not be that crazy.

It’s too bad a lot of the cool Apple Wallet features seem to kind of die on arrival.

I would love to have order tracking automatically in the Wallet app, but considering the Apple Store doesn’t even support it, that feels unlikely.

Having your drivers license in there would be great too, and I don’t blame Apple for this, but I suspect Oregon and a lot of others states are never going to support it. Hope I’m wrong 🤞
