cristo,

By their logic, abortion is murder, any doctor who performs an abortion is ineligible to own guns because they would be a violent felon. I just dont understand why these people gotta be so brain dead

cristo,

I was tipped a For Motion Picture Use only 5 dollar bill at my valet job and called the person out for it being not a real 5. They are very distinguishable, even on first glance the color and texture is just wrong. The lady who gave it to me got all flustered and claimed she didnt even know it wasnt real. This kind if thing happens more often than you think

cristo,

They used to, back when we lived in a real society

What's a common occurrence in your hobby that you think shouldn't be?

For me it’s driving while under the influence. If you couldn’t tell, I like me some ganja. However I have long since held the belief that it is utterly insane to drive while under the influence of most substances, with maybe nicotine and caffeine being the exception. All too often I see other stoners smoking and driving,...

Consumer Reports urges USDA to remove Lunchables From National School Lunch Program (advocacy.consumerreports.org)

Consumer Reports called on the Department of Agriculture today to remove Lunchables food kits from the National School Lunch Program. CR recently compared the nutritional profiles of two Lunchable kits served in schools and found they have even higher levels of sodium than the kits consumers can buy in the store. CR also tested...

cristo,

I know its done to death but I really do blame Michelle Obama for how shitty school lunches have gotten. I dont know how the administration at the time got away with the enshittification of school lunches under the guise of nutrition. Some places were literally passing napkins off as vegetables because they are made of plant fibers.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketchup_as_a_vegetable

I remember reading an article on reddit a long time ago, but the closest thing I could find was the ketchup as a vegetable thing in my 5 minutes of google searching. If I find the original article I was referencing Ill put it in another reply.

cristo, (edited )

Did you read past the abstract and see the part about how in 2011 the government prevented the USDA from reclassifying pizza as a vegetable because it contains 30ml of tomato paste?

cristo,

politico.com/…/michelle-obama-healthy-eating-scho…

The napkin one is harder to find, still searching for it. This politico article explains it pretty well.

cristo,

Yes that was congressional action but what branch is the USDA part of?

cristo,

This is almost how RAIM works in an airplane

cristo,

Dont do that because then we might go to war with China.

cristo,

I agree. They are contributing to ecosystem collapse all over the western coastline. Even down to South America.

cristo,

They can declare whatever they want, they need to actually do something about it

cristo,

No other country will enforce it, American hegemony is real and youre kidding yourself if you think the UN would actually get off its ass and do something. Plus the US would just veto anything anyways.

cristo,

Have you seen South Africa today?

cristo,

T rex arms is so widely clowned on in the youtube gun world. They routinely put out so mant dumb ass videos and wrong information.

cristo,

I need my binaural audio of a political speech so I can hear them lying in dolby 7.1

cristo,

You say that as if conservatism has always been. Its a relatively recent phenomenon. Religion, at its earliest historically, has been a function of community; and essential service to strengthen a community’s bonds. Eventually it was used by the ruling class as a guise for divine right, to legitimize the power of those in power. Then it has evolved into what it is today, a cash grab. Of course this is very surface level, but my point still stands.

how can something be so courageous and yet so true (slrpnk.net)

Edit: Jesus Christ, people. If you buy a $150 Thinkpad made by slave labor instead of a $1,200 MacBook made by slave labor, you’re still supporting a capitalist economy based on slave labor. We all do. We have no choice. The number of smug liberals in the comments saying “well I buy a cheap used laptop” or “well I buy...

cristo,

I never understood why firearms safety classes were done away with in schools. Nearly every middle and high school had a shooting club for most of the US’s history.

Roland Fryer has never been wrong it seems.

A surge of illegal homemade machine guns has helped fuel gun violence in the US (apnews.com)

Communities around the U.S. have seen shootings carried out with weapons converted to fully automatic in recent years, fueled by a staggering increase in small pieces of metal or plastic made with a 3D printer or ordered online. Laws against machine guns date back to the bloody violence of Prohibition-era gangsters. But the...

cristo,

Yeah but the violence we do see in europe is typically widely spread knife crime and chemical attacks on people. The most complicated and unique terrorist attacks I have ever seen happen on European soil.

cristo,

Mostly talking about the regular acid attacks that happen mostly to women and children

cristo,

Logged gun ownership has dropped. You can still buy a gun off the grey market and never fill out a 4473

cristo,

I thought you were talking about America in the second half of your post. Gotta go back to reading comprehension class I guess
