Some Internet governance, centralisation, and consolidation links for the holiday weekend...

I’m late reading Maria Farrell and Robin Berjon’s “We Need To Rewild The Internet” (https://www.noemamag.com/we-need-to-rewild-the-internet/) but it’s worth reading, and a less pessimistic take on the problems of Internet consolidation and regulation than some. 1/3

I do appreciate how, when writing drafts using the markdown template and GitHub, every writing session starts with spending 30 minutes debugging Python and Ruby build issues – this always make me feel more productive

A handy guide for those coming to the @ietf meeting next week.

csperkins,

@mnot @ietf thanks, Mark - that’s helpfully reassuring 🕷️😱

Q for those who used to use slide film for photography - WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH YOUR SLIDES?

Or... how have you made them digital? (So you and others can actually view them these days.)

I have hundreds... probably thousands of slides in boxes (and projector trays!) just taking up space in my closets.

How have you digitized your slides?

I know there are machines you can get... and I've heard of services you can just ship all your slides to.

What have you all done?

csperkins,

@danyork I suspect @moragperkins will have opinions here :)

"Capita confirm that they have taken extensive steps to recover and secure the data as well as monitoring the dark web to confirm that data compromised as a result of this incident is not circulating more widely." – if they're monitoring THE DARK WEB then all is well, surely?
