@failedLyndonLaRouchite if you followed at all, you would know the answer is yes.

If you read the article you would see they’re claiming most people have some immunity now, so it’s safe. But that’s not how covid works. You can get infected again in a month.

Also, it can be spread by people even if they don’t have symptoms, which is kinda a big deal for people like me who are immune suppressed + compromised.

Remember masks protect people from you more than they protect you from them.

Remember the annoying error trying to order pad Thai?

I had sent them a message saying it was broke and I wasn’t going to call so fix your site…

Well I got an email from the regional director of operations apologizing and gave me a free meal next time.

That’s way more than the usual blowoff I have come to expect.

I’m grouchy as hell if you haven’t noticed. Might want to mute me for a bit if you don’t want to see me vent about stuff.

I suppose the feedback I recorded for Tesla when it asked why I disconnected autopilot might tell me if they actually listen…

I said it was a piece of shit that never works.

Could end up with my car bricked.

Laukidh, to random

Tesla autopilot is great cause it’ll make an illegal lane change and then yell at you for looking at the screen to try to make it stop doing dangerous shit.

I think I have another thing to report to the NHTSA. https://www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#index

Laukidh,

@lauren had someone gleefully tell me that this morning.

I laid into them about Hind Rajab, Nahida Khalil Anton, Samar Kamal Anton, Alon Shamriz, Yotam Haim, and Samar Talalka.

A crowd in San Francisco surrounded a Waymo robotaxi on Saturday night, broke the windows and threw fireworks inside, setting the vehicle ablaze, the company said.

Waymo said that the autonomous vehicle was not transporting any passengers at the time of the incident and no injuries were reported.

Video posted to social media showed a crowd of several dozen people surrounding the car and scrawling graffiti on the sides. One man bashed the front passenger window and the windshield with a skateboard, shattering the glass.

Subsequently, someone threw a firework inside, setting the car on fire. Flames quickly engulfed the Jaguar, totally destroying the car.

It was not clear what prompted the crowd to set upon the robotaxi. The San Francisco Police Department said authorities are investigating the incident.

Laukidh,

@dangoodin I’ve seen reports it tried to drive through a crowd at a street celebration.

Seems justified.

Laukidh, (edited )

@dangoodin did you just block and unblock me so I wouldn’t follow you anymore? Cause suddenly I’m not. And I’d been following since you joined.

Laukidh,

@dangoodin also, yes. Reports.

People describing what they saw or heard. The literal definition of the word.

LRT: I’m a decade out of tech but I definitely saw the inequality.

Some teams are better than others. I saw more women in dev than ops. More in DBA than any other admin specialty. Lots more in QA.

I never worked with a woman in net eng.

I think I voted to hire every woman candidate I ever interviewed and we successfully hired ONE.

I also remember the first time I clearly saw my Director in a meeting talking over and shutting down one particularly disliked woman in project management.

She had a reputation for being manipulative that I don’t think I ever actually saw. It was probably BS.

I only had issues with her pushing for last minute/friday code deploys, but I just went to her and asked if it really needed to go or could wait for proper process.

Laukidh,

I had a good friend who was a woman studying networking back when I was starting to learn Linux and pretending to run a hacker IRC channel (the trick is to kick ban anyone who asks about illicit stuff and tell everyone else to rtfm, that way you don’t have to actually know anything), but never in my career.
