Believing that Maga Republicans are participants in a cult isn’t especially helpful. It’s not illegal to be a cult. In fact, that’s a perfectly valid form of American political ideology.

The only question is whether you think this is a good long term plan for any sort of quality of life. Forget what you think you believe. Do you really want anyone else telling you what you believe?

Unfortunately, too many think yes.

I think that might have been the last of the air conditioning for the year. Looks like at least a week or two where we will be comfortably in the middle with no need for heat or AC.

Need to prep the fireplace. The chimney has already been cleaned. Wood has been delivered and is nice and seasoned.

One of the (few) good things about me, is that I can’t maintain any level of intensity in my irritation with others. I don’t necessarily forgive, but I do willfully forget. I won’t re-engage but I just run out of steam to pursue any vengeance. It’s not a positive characteristic worthy of praise, but rather laziness and an unwillingness to give others any more of my attention than absolutely necessary. It’s why I make a lousy activist. I have very little fuel for hate and so burn out quickly.

If young voters are disenchanted with Biden because they don’t think he’s done enough, they’re in for a real treat under a fascist regime that destroys democracy in America, once and for all.

Let’s see how that works out for social justice, minority rights, sane foreign policy, or battling climate change.

Trump keeps claiming he’s worth more than even his overinflated financial records state. Even if that were true, which it’s not, what would the logic be to significantly undervaluing his net worth in documents designed to get favorable loan terms? There is no logic. This is a logic-free zone.

My grandson Quinn. His dodgeball team are called the Cheeto Puffs. His friend Dominic came up with the idea for the tutus. These kids today.

Have you considered that if Democrats had nominated a better candidate than Hillary Clinton in 2016, we would not be in this situation at all. We haven’t gotten away from the Obama administration in decades. Clinton was unpopular. Biden is unpopular. We haven’t had a popular candidate since Obama.

We’re running neck and neck with an alleged felon. Maybe it’s because our candidates have not been strong.

I wrote this over a year ago. Some of it has aged better than others, but one thing seems certain.

As soon as you think the GOP can’t get any worse, they surprise you with a new low. Kevin McCarthy was a duplicitous, lying grifter. He was also likely the most reasonable, sane, and honorable speaker we will ever again see from Republicans. It’s going to get way worse from here on out.

Imagine Jim Jordan or Steve Scalise as speaker. They want to burn it down.
