I too, am so tired of musicians, celebrities, "free thinkers", and other noted persons betraying my assumption they weren't absolute bigots and shit-weasels.

AHEM. we also need a word for when someone you had low or no expectations for turns out to far exceed them. OH - and for #2 some examples wouldn't hurt.
