@binarynova I keep saying this about Open Source projects fully relying on GitHub too. For code, for issues, for CI. It's going to be tears there too but nobody wants to listen.

A few weeks ago I was giving a lot of thought to whether I'd attend @longhorn this year given the exclusionary and harmful laws that Texas has recently passed.

@Crell @cspray @longhorn I think for me the main conundrum is now about whether it's safe enough for me to attend, as I've concluded that "boycotting is silly due to law-y issues", and that people in tech are mostly not for these laws either anyway.

For me, the easiest thing in the world is to go to whatever conferences invite me to come. You know, as a reward for an awesome career I built. Instead, I’m doing the slightly-less-easier thing and choose to not go speak in places that are openly hostile towards LGBQT+ folks. No extension for 8.2 on Windows which puts a crimp in my plans to only run 8.2 on my new dev machine. If PHP is supported on Windows why are the PECL extensions such a mess? Bah!
