@dillera Heyya! A couple of days ago I tried printing to your ImageWriter over GlobaTalk. It seemed like it was working but it took a really long time so ended up stopping it. Did anything come up on that side?

@paulrickards i saw some page feeds but nothing actually printed. I did have an error and rebooted my router since then. Try again when you feel motivated!

@paulrickards I thought that printed from a Stylewriter for about 10 seconds. Never seen the single sheet feeder. Looks like it has stayed nice and platinum.

Argh, this is driving me crazy.

Does anyone out there remember the specifics of the Apple engineer that got fired when he got caught trying to hide an image of Britney Spears in some Macintosh ROM? I think I probably read about it in a MacWeek article, but it seems to have sunk beneath the waves where even search engines can't find it anymore…

EDIT: Maybe it was Paula Abdul? At any rate, some singer he was obsessed with!

Just have to sort Termination and the Q605 should be ready to go for Summer of . It's got a re-capped PSU, I personally recapped the Mobo, 128Megs and 1Meg video. Ready for all summer long.

Strange but the Q605's SCSI totally rejected BlueScsi2 no matter what I did. It accepts SCSI2SD however.

Hey "The Worlds Fastest ImageWriter" just got a print job from ! Thanks! lives all summer here. VCF East is done and so I'm finishing unpacking and turning back to the Mac, esp since I have a color 040 machine to play with now.

to a good home! One Kensington TurboMouse ADB trackball without a ball. The left button is broken, but the switch still works. It just wobbles a bit.

The tall end of the trackball base with two ADB ports and a small internal locking port. There is an empty square molded into the plastic below each port with nothing written on it.
The underside of the trackball base. The label has been cut to expose the top two screwheads and also the bottoms of the rollers. The model number is obscured by one cut, but below that says Version 4.0

Got to play my first networked game yesterday via thanks to @billgoats and @arroz - bolo. It was a game totally off my radar (I had never played it back in the day) but it was fun to play. Networking play was very smooth with my EtherTalked SE/30, it bogged down to pain when I tried to get my LocalTalked PB on to play. Fun game though!

The color was beautiful on the PB :(

Three questions for going into this third weekend:

  1. How to name an ImageWriter2 on AppleTalk?

  2. Is sharing setup the only way to name your Mac? (Sys7.5)

  3. Who is going to get an old Cisco router and do the core routing so everyone just has to connect to that one address and make this much easier?

Modern Mac (still a trashcan!), SE/30, Quadra, Airport, IW2, 512k,PB, IIGS - all these are up and participating for the next few weeks in .. then they will have to make way for another project.

IP Gateway Madness

So @smallsco had an idea... to connect up a Localtalk only (but bridged to Ethertalk) Mac over to my IP Gateway which I got working today. If this works, his Localtalk IIFX would have IP- without any Ethernet cards!

And it worked.

I need to make a diagram for what is happening so my head won't melt, but he's using my local IP space to go out and do TCP/IP things on his IIFX all via and the crazy stuff that is happening this !
