Is it possible to get covid wastewater data anywhere?

Biobot seems to have stopped publishing data and the CDC (really just the CD) is completely useless. Despite masking whenever I’m indoors in public with either n94s or n95s, I’m mildly sick, my kid is mildly sick, we had to cancel a small outdoor party because a guest’s parents are sick, and I heard of a local business...

duderium,

Finally, an American political compass that makes sense

duderium,

The numbers, folks. They’re fake. Completely fake numbers. The failing Marxist news media, the tiktok, they’re all fake, folks. They’re fake.

duderium,

Ironic in a way that productive forces are so developed in China that the communists have become free marketeers while the capitalists are back to doing hardcore 18th century protectionist mercantilism.

duderium,

Agreed but to be fair, I think the Soviets would have done this if they could have, but they were facing an imminent invasion from the Nazis and had to batten down the hatches. China’s borders seem more secure to me compared with the USSR, which had lengthy borders with imperialist countries.

Me taking a bus straight to a concentration camp: “well, what are you going to do? I couldn’t wait for THE ONE!”

Biden is toast with people under 45 isn't he?

The 45+ crowd will vote for him because they support isn’treal and are afraid of Drumpf but I think we’re going to see a massive drop out of young voters. Probably too with the people who already don’t vote to begin with, namely service workers who are fucked over either way with D’s and R’s....

duderium,

We’re experiencing trump’s second term right now.

duderium,

I think a blockade of the USA is inevitable because it seems impossible to invade and then pacify the USA…unless you’re using drone swarms or something. But who knows.

Another "the political compass is bad" post + getting into blue collar work + wondering about combining worker co-ops with local Leninism

So I just started my first blue collar job a couple of weeks ago. I live in a rural, coastal purple state that has been trending blue for years. I’ve spent more than a few hours chatting with “the guys,” and as a terminal hexbear user I feel like I’m extremely sensitive to their political views. If you want to call them...

duderium,

None of what you advocate can happen without revolution, and as a certain philosopher and activist said, “a revolution is not a dinner party.” It will be violent, and many people will die.

You can either have that, or you can have the Democrats/Republicans pretending to be the party of civility while they commit genocide. No ruling class in history has ever given up power peacefully.

duderium,

Are you suggesting that a state built on ongoing genocide and imperialism like Canada, or a backward, semi-colonial, semi-feudal country like India, are models that anyone in their right mind should follow?

duderium,

I live in a swing state and I’m not voting for Biden or Trump. The trans genocide / end of abortion rights is already happening under Biden, and even democrats on the local, county, and state levels who pretend to care about this will still vote endless amounts of money to the police.

duderium,

Good so I know my parents saw this—since CNN is on in their house 24/7–and then they thought: “But this will make it easier for Trump to win the election!” Then they thought that all violence is bad, something that did not apply on 10/6, in Ukraine, or really anywhere else. Then, as CNN cut to ten minutes of pharmaceutical commercials, they forgot about it.

This is not a reflection on Bushnell obviously, I have nothing but respect for him. I just hate my parents.

Can anti-boomerism be a path toward anti-capitalism and anti-colonialism?

I used to think that people focusing so much ire on boomers was anti-Marxist because the main contradiction in American society is class (settler / indigenous, bourgeois / proletarian) but I’ve started to wonder if this profound and really ubiquitous age-consciousness (ageism) is actually just a step toward class...

Have you ever actually changed someone’s mind about communism on the internet?

I’ve spent years arguing with people online and really have nothing to show for it aside from my own education and amusement. I was radicalized by discovering r/chapotraphouse back in 2018 I think. Nobody argued with me there, I just lurked, loved the memes, thought it was the funniest place online, then started reading theory...

Corporations that constantly whine like obese dogs being denied their treats over nobody wanting to work use AI to make their hiring process even more dogshit (hexbear.net)

‘Man I just want a dishwasher job’: Why are Olive Garden and FedEx forcing job applicants to endure a strange personality test that turns them into blue avatars? Employers complain of a worker shortage, but would-be hires see a long and arduous screening process. BY CHLOE BERGER...

duderium,

Are we actually in a recession now and is the bourgeoisie just basically papering over it any way they can?
