This is why I haven’t bought any new iPads in the last six years. Sharing an iPad with the family is an abysmal experience, and it doesn’t make sense to buy an iPad for each family member. https://mastodon.social/
Ranged enemy logic is coming along. Projectile is a placeholder for now. Generally happy with the results although I'm sure I can make it better with more time. They're not clever enough to co-ordinate, they just try to avoid shooting each other but don't always succeed 😄 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5I7unSyXYbo
@dvrzan Thanks for the post! I liked the struct inside the extension and the vars with the default configurations.
Just a suggestion: I know it's a fake sample, but when calling claimCoupon() I would set the .loading immediately and not after a delay, to avoid double taps and give immediate feedback.
@marcel your posts remember me the old era of internet, full of interesting blogs and people posting about their life and hobbies. Thanks again for sharing!
I was waiting for this one. Netflix kills the legacy Basic plan and gives you to pick between a shitty ‘with ads’ plan (crowing that you’ll save 35%) or nudging you towards the more expensive Standard.
Fortunately, the child (our only Netflix viewer) has just started watching a lot of iPlayer and for the first time doesn’t care about the propect of losing Netflix. So we will be switching to the ‘no plan’.
@craiggrannell I had the base plan with ads for a couple of months and, at least in Italy, there are no ads in the kids’ profile.
I don't know if this is a global thing: in Italy there's a law that says that TVs targeted to small kids can't have advertising and maybe they are forced to do it here for this reason.
Seems the easy way to try beta Matter support with #HomeAssistant would be via the HAOS Add-on. I am still running HA-Core and it’s been a bit of a hassle to update lately.
Just a bit afraid to get a lot of unexpected work when migrating. Notably because my Home Assistant Pi4 - runs quite a few other services . Maybe I should just get a dedicated x86 pc for this.
Did I mention the quantity of stuff in HA install got a tad out of hand ? If I kill this the whole house stops 😅
iPad has probably had the most dramatic shift of all of Apple's platforms, since its inception. It began as doing very few things to a very high quality, but now it does almost everything, badly. I hope history finds it to have been more than just an incubator for Apple's Mac silicon during the wayward years
@adacosta I think you just confirmed the initial point.
It’s depressing that after 14 years this platform is only good for consuming media and doing causal work
Needed to turn off Screen Time temporarily. Apple: “bollocks to you, then”. Infers the set-up is wiped and has me start from scratch. I go through the set-up, and it merges the new one with what was already there. But the block set-ups have been randomly wiped.
@craiggrannell screen time sucks hard, I’m an iOS developer from 15 years and I lost hope to setup it correctly. Can’t understand how normal people can use a system like that
@craiggrannell The fact that infuriates me more is that when it was first released, it was an excellent system. Then Apple forgot about it and only made marginal changes to keep it updated to the latest OS that some sometimes even worsened the feature.
If they would have keep improving on it like they do for other features, it would be really good
Fellow neat freaks, this is your semi-regular reminder that if you cut a little tactile groove into the front underside of your desk at the halfway point, and use a cutting mat as a desk mat, you can easily keep everything aligned to your taste.
(It also makes it really easy to visualise the dimensions of things you’re buying online, for what it’s worth.)
Playing Bubble Bobble with my brothers and it’s just mind blowing that there’s no HD remake that just mimics the original game, with improved graphics and controls, perhaps a few minor level adjustments (level 57 I’m looking at you). It’s the perfect game, single and co-op.
It's shocking how much more usable Chrome is, now that they finally fixed erratic ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED errors.
I can't believe this took them 5 months to finally get around to fix.
I will try that. I’m on social medias because I have zero social skills so I’m afraid my interactions with random strangers will look rather sad or creepy or both.
You were warned. https://mastodon.social/@mrdoornbos/112270577116070998
