I agree that not everyone should be a dog owner and/or parent.

But dogs are awesome and maybe the problem isn’t the dogs in the commenter’s experience, maybe that person just sucks?

As of right now, firefish.social has been down for nearly 2 days upgrading and changing databases, as their data migration is taking longer than expected. 🤞 (lemmy.world)

Two thumbs up dev(s), hope you’re doing okay and getting some sleep in between. Had some rough production upgrades in my life, and this sounds like a pretty bad one. 😖

I was really excited for firefish. Ditched my main Mastodon account in place of it and tried it out for a month. Aside from the slowness, and the constant downtime, I found the dev’s attitude off putting. I get it, you’re doing most of this yourself, you’re under pressure, and you have a regular life. But the constant negativity with the user base trying to figure out how this site worked was a turn off. Not sure how people are supposed to get excited about your project when you yourself seem to be annoyed by it.

I moved to firefish.social from Mastodon partially because of how firefish boasted how superior they were over Mastodon and the lack of features. But there’s one feature Mastodon has working for it: Uptime

Glad you’re doing better and on the upswing. Would really love an update on the future of Artemis. I joined the .camp as I couldn’t wait any longer for the merge to allow kbin.social accounts. I was holding out for Artemis as I had planned for this to be my main fedi app. But the app is struggling as of late.

I’m seeing an uptick of crashing when scrolling which is the main annoyance. It’s a TestFlight so I understand and I’m constantly submitting bugs. But Artemis is what I’m holding out for as my main Fedi app. Unfortunately it can’t be my daily driver in its current state.

Also, I know this is a nice to have feature request, but man would it be nice to be able to block users (unless I’m missing something).

Fermented jalapenos with herbs

This year I have lots of jalapenos. Now I want to experiment a little bit. I want to make a hot green sauce with different herbs. A list of herbs I want to use: basil, salad burnet, parsley, cress, chives, borage, sorrel, chervil. Any ideas how to do this? Should I ferment the herbs in vacuum bags seperated from the chillis?...

I just made a green hot sauce from my Jalapeños and used garlic, lime juice, white distilled vinegar, cilantro, and red onion from the garden. I agree adding the fresh herbs at the end. But most importantly, don’t do like I did and remove the seeds. It ended up not hot at all. But it tastes amazing!

Jungle/DnB DJ/Producer here for the past 10 years. Juno download for anything I purchase. Email promo lists for everything else.

A lot of label owners (including myself) will email out new promo weeks before the official release. If you can help promote their music, they will add you to their promo contact list. I’m at the point now where I don’t need to buy anymore music and get stuff before most folks.

I still buy music when there’s something I hear that I must have, but not so much anymore.

It also depends on what genre you’re playing out. I find better Jungle|Dnb on Juno download compared to Beatport. For House or Techno, Beatport is better imo

Native English speaker here. Although I pronounce it Mast-a-don, I spell it Mastodon because that’s how it’s spelled and I know how to read and write. Also, I’ve never seen it spelled like that. English speaking or otherwise.

Waking up on a cold winter’s morning to the smell of bacon, coffee, biscuits\gravy, and warming my back with my siblings next to my grandparents wood furnace. Every once and awhile one of those smells will take me back. It’s really hard to put into words. I kind of lose my breathe and get this impending doom knowing those warm memories will forever be a distant memory. Creating new memories is what keeps us moving forward but those days of comforting innocence will never be relived.
