More governmental organizations should have their own Mastodon instances. Their communication goals are too important to just leave in the hands of a few private citizens who may not even be beholden to them in any way. I say as an American, lots of Big Tech is USA-based. OK, who's playing Patreon #pornocalypse bingo? I got my first smack on the wrist.

It is for an #AudioPorn story which was posted on Patreon at the end of last year. Before their guidelines changed.

So yes, they are applying their new rules retroactively. Naughty past me! Should have been able to see the future!

And the reason they've removed it? They think it portrays 'real sex acts with real people.'

Story in next post, I'll let you lot judge.

@qblueheart @smutstodon @bookstodon You are touching on a big reason I am loathe to outright demonize individual writers who use AI. It comes down to conflicting pressures on individuals. I also don't expect their individual bans to work like collective organized action. So even as it isn't something I embrace, I can empathize. The tech companies can take the brunt of my ire though! Safe to say with all my different responses, I have LAYERS of thoughts 😅

Sitting weird on a book that I enjoyed and it was fine. But also not sure how I feel about finding the author has used exclusively AI art to promote it. I'm not trying to be a Luddite here. Sincerely. My daytime career is in tech. AI is a tool, but used in this way? Feels weird? Curious what @smutstodon and @bookstodon thinks
