Well, happy fucking joy. One of the Creative Commons music sites where I get music for my videos has rearranged its structure, and now YouTube has decided it’s “deceptive” and has removed one of my videos. No appeal available.

Just taken delivery of three (four actually) new triffids from Hampshire Carnivores - a drosera rotundifolia (found wild around these parts, so hopefully will be very happy); a drosera intermedia (also found in these isles) with bonus, unexpected, unknown drosera binata; and a handsome variety of Australian drosera binata with a winter temperature preference matching Edinburgh.

A weird thing happened last night on the way to the pub. On Buccleuch Street, in the centre of town, I met an otter going in the opposite direction.

There are otters in the Water of Leith, but this is nowhere near there, or any other river.

Feeling accomplished right now. I have just finished a large and complex sewing project. Physically and mentally exhausting, I also had to learn new skills along the way. For me, with my “consistent with ADHD” nature, this is a massive achievement.

I had to do the thing I get to do every couple of years, when I have to climb in to the roof space and hit the cold water tank in a particular spot, to dislodge whatever’s in a valve. Difficult, tiring, but satisfying.

Help plan my holiday! So far, I have Edinburgh - Brussels - Dortmund - Berlin - buggered if I know - Brussels - Edinburgh.

“ Buggered if I know” is a week, in December, and I have about four days on my Interrail pass to play with.

Interests: Christmas markets, beer, industrial heritage, batshit transport. Last year, my post-Dortmund routing was Bamberg - Nuremberg - Cologne - Brussels - home.
