New themed set () looks real different than I expected!

I guess they're continuing to push the bounds of what they're willing to do with new frame treatments 🤔 🤔 🤔

@bitprophet My Arda deck is what helped curb my enthusiasm for the expansion. MECCG is just such a wonderful emulation of what the books were that I'm totally content with it. The Magic set is certainly cute and a lot of cards have well designed, flavorful mechanics, but the premise of Magic just can't be as on-theme as MECCG was.

I played a game, again. 😮

After getting back from our family beach cottage trip Friday evening, I was too sore to do anything else, so Saturday morning I fired up the Crisis Core remaster.

It's been ages since I played the original, so I can't remember how 1:1 this remaster plays, but it definitely plays well. The sheer number of repetitive hunting side quests is a bit much (giving me .hack// flashbacks) but the acting/storytelling is still some of Square's best. 👍

@mike It is one of the few salvageable parts of the Compilation era. A shame they learned all the wrong lessons from it heading into XIII/XV. Still have my UMD.

Those repetitive missions were perfect for train rides in Japan. Not so perfect for marathoning. It's a bit less of a slog once you learn to avoid all of the random encounters.

I'm a big fan of Enchantress as an archetype in , so the :black: :white: :green: precon is of course the one that I'm most interested in. It seems like a fairly solid beginning point for someone who is interested in the archetype but never built an Enchantress deck before. I'll be grabbing a bunch of the new cards as singles for my Tuvasa and Tom Bombadil decks for sure.

@Dunstable Was a bit whelmed by the deck list, personally, but my enchantments matters deck is Naya colors, and most of the new toys here are either in black or do things to enchantments that Marath doesn't get too excited for. Maybe the enchantment duplicator at most.

@Dunstable Yeah if you're playing with a fairer commander than Marath that makes sense. I run the whole enchantress draw package, but Marath just needs one or two things resolve to end the game usually so ramping isn't usually the issue.

Can't begrudge someone not going the "Oops all combos" route, though. That's my my Marath deck triples as Uril voltron and Mayael battlecruiser. I should really make a video about that...

Nice draft night tonight! Got to play up on the patio tonight and the weather was great. Found my way into a fun WB Tokems deck feat. Bowmasters and got to do some silly things.

Vs UR Tempt: 2-0
Vs UR Tempo: 0-2 (Eomer ran me over!)
Vs WU Humans: 2-0

Drew a bit poorly rd2, but my buddy’s deck lined up nicely against mine regardless and he took the finals! Fun, food, and friends for a nice night.

Just so I'm clear to this, and I understand it doesn't really matter for a 3¢ card, "near mint" is supposed to refer to the card condition and not the card's physical proximity to some number of mint leaves while it was in storage, right?
