Does anyone still maintain their own music library?

I used to have a huge, beautifully organised MP3 library that I started acquiring in the late 90s (one song at a time, it was a labour of love) but that is long gone, and I am completely reliant on Spotify.
Something has triggered in my brain this morning to make me long for the old days of winamp and burning CDs to play in the 6th form common room.

@boffbowsh I'm debating cooking up some kind of automation thing where I still use Spotify most of the time but somehow backup my likes and playlists for later... acquisition. There must be a way.

@barrysampson @boffbowsh I don't really want CDs, I already have too many physical things in my life.
Jealous of your iPod though. I only ever had a 4gig nano so nowhere near big enough for my full collection!

@rem I'm probably thinking too simple, but if it's just an URL (or list of) couldn't we just blacklist & block it using a pihole or something similar?

I like metal 🤘but I've not found anything new I've liked for ages.

Any recommendations? I'm not too fussy about specific subgenres, as long as it's loud I'll give it a try. If I can sing along, even better.

Not sure it's worth asking on here as I have almost no followers and zero reach but...

I'm trying to buy a PS3, but obvs I'm looking for one of the original fat ones that was backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games.

I spent half a day in Windows 95 today. So, it stands to reason that this evening I'm installing Windows XP.

Later I'm going to find a phone box to call to find out the time.

@rem XP was a quality operating system. Probably the only OS I actually knew inside and out (I'm a Mac user now)
