it's so hard to advertise an after dark account because I post things here so that they're not on my other accounts... I feel weird boosting it from the other accounts...
@catbrained@puppygirlhornypost follow who and what you want to follow. if they have a problem with it, they’ll let you know. try not to predict what other people will think, saves a lot of time /gen
@puppygirlhornypost the idea of letting a non-community member control a software meant to be for a community is so weird. i was gonna say smth about twitter and a metaphor for globalization but im too tired
@puppygirlhornypost fandom is complete advertiser slop space now. there’s no point even trying to view it on mobile, i can only do it on pc where i have tons of adblock. even then I try to find independent or alternative wikis for the things im looking up. ads need to stop.
@puppygirlhornypost as soon as small projects get taken over by larger companies, or grow to have things like shareholders etc. they’ll do anything they can to squeeze more money out of it, including putting ads literally everywhere.
@puppygirlhornypost One thing you could maybe do is get a used Wii since it’ll give you the classic console experience of being a cheap way to play games (mario kart) without the hassle of subscriptions and stuff. It’s not super portable, though.
I feel like the fediverse would be more accessible if there wasn't this all encompassing power known to squash small instances and alienate them from the rest of the crowd. I hate how we just accept that is a thing that happens here, and we know how bad it can get when someone gets stomped on by them. Yet, all we do is offer our condolences because we are utterly powerless to stop it. The fact that people who have not gathered the attention of Eye of Sauron are held back from discussing it due to the fact it guarantees that you'll be squashed by the all encompassing power. This very much feels like what I've only read in history books regarding things such as the secret police.
@puppygirlhornypost Is this about those crazy right wing doxxing instances? Or the naturally enforced “algorithm” that appears when you have popularity contests?
@puppygirlhornypost they're literally telling you to honk tho if you like the thing??? i've never heard this explanation of it before. I'm sticking with the "i honk if i like the thing" cause honestly i didn't even understand your explanation 😭
The Biden administration announced last week that they’re investing $78 million into 19 clean energy projects in rural communities from Alaska to Alabama.
The funding from the infrastructure law will be used to install everything from solar and batteries to power lines and heat pumps.
And I wish more people payed attention to this sort of thing. Going to be hard to protest anything on a fried planet.
