As Twitter ditches its iconic branding in favor of owner Elon Musk's favorite letter "X," its open source competitor Mastodon is once again seeing usage numbers soar.
I’ve been loving Lemmy and mastodon and feel they are coming along as good replacements for Reddit and Twitter. Outside the fediverse, I occasionally enjoy posting dumb little video shorts and I put them on TikTok, Facebook and Insta because I have friends, family and followers on each. With the recent updates Memmy has changed drastically and is very different from what it was just a week or two ago. The removal of the traversal feed, and the major rework of most of the ui, has made the app feel a lot more like Apollo. The reason I like Memmy so much compared to other apps is because it felt a lot more unique,...
I think it’s just evolving into a more fluid app, with some primary features (like community navigation) becoming more user-friendly.
There are also some bigger changes upcoming, from what I’ve read, which will make it a more diverse app overall. I, for one, am looking forward to this.

I’d read that the Hot feed degrades over time while a server is running, and this is responsible for users being shown several month or year old posts when browsing by hot. Some instances like lemmy.world get around this by restarting the server several times a day....
Ugh, I’m sorry. I have a few of my own stories as well, which is what prompted this post. I just wish everyone could realize how lame it is to be so negative all the time towards others.
Oh and please, feel free to rant away! That’s all I’ve used this community for, so don’t let me monopolize the space 🙂

When will America stop worshipping the Christian god in favor of legit worshipping companies?
This question is a joke. Also, the mods should add a joke tag to allow dumb answers.
