In this interview Charles Simonyi told the origin of the acronym WYSIWYG in the context of his work at Xerox PARC on the Bravo word processor, see page 21:

https://archive.computerhistory.org/resources/access/text/2015/06/102702232-05-01-acc.pdf#page=21

Xerox Star ads such as this might have been inspired by the anecdote Simonyi told:

By the way, it's an interesting 2008 interview Grady Booch did with Simonyi for a Computer History Museum oral history project.

@mattof, @linm @SDF: I just discovered by chance that the (formerly available under the now no more resolving 10kbclub.com domain) has been closed and is no more maintained: https://github.com/spcask/10kbclub/commit/2e47bf4d2e60897b9de4cdc549cc5cf9e75ea5b2

The git repo at https://github.com/spcask/10kbclub (made a backup copy) and what's in the Wayback Machine (latest copy at https://web.archive.org/web/20231208000921/https://10kbclub.com/) is all that's left.

@xtaran @SDF ow, that is very sad

@xtaran @hl Ow wow, 1k.. Just checked, my web pages are mostly around 1.8k … 4k, with some a bit larger. For me, 1k would be a tad too ambitious:)

Totally agree that 1Mb should be considered as bloat :)

The sad state of my quest for a Usenet NNTP GUI client for Linux.

Pan is awesome but the binaries of my Debian Bullseye based distro, Crostini, are ancient and buggy. The Pan project distributes no .deb or other packages. Building from source requires recent versions of tools not in Bullseye.

Very few other GUI options available. Even fewer with .deb or other binaries.
