This is a fun one. The Space Quest 2 (1987) master disk had been previously used to store the AGI engine source code, and hadn't been formatted properly, so the source was mostly recoverable from the game that shipped. This was only discovered in 2016.

Games Buddha Would Not Play dates to "the 5th or 6th century BC" is the earliest known list of games.

Write a new list called something like "Games Buddha Still Would Not Play" and you'd have a nice historical bookend of the last known list of games. (For probably a few seconds.)

Knobscape: The design space of control knobs you've built into your game. So you can tune it non-destructively as you get more information about gameplay.

High level game design is as much about designing the appropriate knobscape as it is about designing the moment-to-moment gameplay. Get the knobscape right and you'll eventually get the the gameplay right. Get it wrong and you'll never converge.

An intentionally horrible word.

@grumpygamer @Danc Just run a daemon that tweaks the knobs at random and when the game feels especially good, unplug the computer so it stops changing
