I talk about how human population is a fundamental problem and get pushback from people saying we can make enough food, everyone needs to be vegan and we all live in cities with buses etc. But this ignores many problems, and this is a perfect example.
It’s impossible to feed 8 billion people without everyone going vegan (which simply isn’t going to happen) or industrial agriculture treating animals like objects.
While I believe I have the right as a living being that nature evolved into an omnivore to take the life of another conscious being for food, I don’t believe we as a society are entitled to abuse another species of conscious beings and waste their lives as will certainly end up being done here to cull the flock.

This obvious contradiction acts as a filter allowing the identification of dumb gullible individuals that can then be manipulated/propagandized as needed. This group is large enough that they become a formidable bloc, a source of news, etc.

The state is a cultural pandemic, this is the real mind virus, our species existed for like 200,000 years in complex societies without the state, 500 years with ubiquitous state (look up enclosure acts that forced everyone into a state) is all it’s taken to destroy the entire planet.
The problem is, it’s a practical impossibility for the masses to mandate anything. There are way over 300 million people in the U.S. (for example), there is no practical way for a majority of them to mandate anything without going through channels put there by those in power which limit the scope of conversation as well as choices.
Anyone claiming a mandate from the people is really claiming successful control of oppressive systems.
The corporation is not known for the quality of their products, and almost all of their known inventions are faulty.

Not the same person but the answer is non-biological coercion of labor even if that’s not the way it’s often defined. If one lives in a system where they are compelled to sell their labor to survive so that someone can skim value from their labor this is a form of slavery.
Ah, it may have been unneeded. What I meant by that is that every living being is compelled to work on some level to survive and I wanted to be clear that I wasn’t including that. Like, a lion must hunt for food, a lion is biologically compelled to do this work to survive but this isn’t slavery.
To continue with that silly analogy, if some lions coerced other lions to hunt extra and took their extra food, that would be a form of slavery.
