An interesting point of view by youtube channel "Shifter": he reports that, on the one hand cycling has found its place in the country, ok the other #car domination is not questioned.
Still miles ahead of Italy!
ITA:
Secondo il canale YouTube Shifter in #Germania la #ciclabilità è considerata, ma le #auto hanno comunque la priorità.
Having known a few Germans, I can blindly extrapolate that they love cars even more than Americans do. Although, they love cars because of the science and mechanics of how cars work. Americans, on the other hand, love cars because they are lazy and homicidal people who will literally burn the world to ashes as long as they can get to Costco 15 minutes faster.
This is a really cool article - thanks for sharing! It’s nice to read about good things that are happening in the world, instead of the ever-present signs of collapse that we’re constantly inundated with.
Analysts have warned Windows 10 end of life plans could spark a global torrent of e-waste, with millions of devices expected to be scrapped in the coming years....
I’m probably the most vocal person for car-free lifestyles and micro mobility in my community, and I absolutely hate the the effect that these stupid things have in the car-free discussion.
At least as their existing solutions were rolled out, they made public spaces uglier and more dangerous for all involved.

I’ve got a thick-ass rack on my Aventon Aventure 2 (probably larger than 2 cm), and many panniers simply do not have hooks that fit around it. Any suggestions for brands / products?...
I have a RadWagon 4 with the same problem and I use this pannier that uses velcro straps instead of a traditional hook setup. I love it - have been using it for almost 6 years now and have nothing but high praise for it

I dont know much about the primary developers of Lemmy, but from what I can tell this is a part time labor of love project for them. Its unreasonable to ask people to push beyond their boundaries or capacity so that their pet project can become a 1:1 replacement for an incredibly mature platform like Reddit overnight
Trees also take quite a few years to grow to the height where they can provide shade in any meaningful way, so a temporary shade structure would be appropriate for at least a couple of years until the canopy becomes mature enough to provide significant amounts of shade.
Its just that I fail to see how mentioning that the new Premiere’s First Nations heritage is problematic. Its incredibly relevant from a newsworthiness perspective. The #SearchTheLandfill movement has been absolutely villainized by the PC party, and now they’ve been replaced by a party led by someone from a First Nations community.
Also, Manitoba has a significant history with First Nations communities, the province literally owes its origin to Louis Riel, who was Metis, and the fact that the first indigenous Premiere didn’t arrive until 2023 is highly newsworthy and historic
I misunderstood your original comment and it was my bad. I apologize. Sorry! I’ve been spending too much time on the Bad Site and its killed my ability to see comments on the internet without immediately thinking judgy things about people. I hope my apology can revive a bit of hope and trust into this community. Sorry for being a shithead!
I use it pretty heavily for tracking books that I want to read in the future. I follow multiple people who share similar tastes to me, and so I’m able to find a lot of really awesome books just by seeing what they’re reading.
