odelik,

Surprise! You’ve been acquired by Amazon!

odelik,

This is more likely a coverage issue than Walmart illegally blocking wireless signals (per to FCC regulations).

Report the coverage issue to Verizon and your local Walmart. Both of which will want to increase coverage of where people are gathering. This is because if bad coverage areas are in places where people gather this will cause affected people to switch services or stop going to those gathering areas if there’s alternatives.

odelik,
  1. OP mentioned this also happened outside in the parking lot and was implying active blocking.
  2. There’s ways for stores to work with telecoms to get service broadcast inside the warehouse/building as well to get around the natural passive blocking from the building materials.

I was well aware of the difference between active and passive blocking.

odelik,

Firefox + “I Still Don’t Care About Cookies” extension makes post GDPR UX shenanigans so much better.

odelik,

Steps for using a bidet:

  1. After pooping, remain seated on toilet seat with bidet
  2. Turn on bidet to desired pressure.
  3. Wiggle your butt around letting the water jet spray you down.
  4. Turn off bidet.
  5. Grab a few squares of TP and fold them over.
  6. Wipe water off and inspect for cleanliness.
  7. Repeat steps above if TP wasn’t clean.

Congrats, you’re now a pro, an clean, pooper.

odelik,

I’ve seen tip jars in botique clothing and other non-food related shops for some time now in the US.

odelik,

I just wish it was an either/or situation.

I don’t always need my lawn mower/blower/weed trimmer on batteries. I wish I could easily plug them in when doing light dut work close to the house. But then they couldn’t tie me into their battery ecosystem as easily.

odelik,

So do you like Biden for this, since you’ve been blindly critical of Biden for “supporting genocide”? Since this is Biden escalating repercussions to Israel, this is a good thing in your eyes, right?

Or are you posting this because Israel is now being crticial of Biden and any critical message about Biden is OK with you?

odelik,

Do one of the following:

  1. Tell your mother you’re not comfortable hosting that type of content as a non-believer.
  2. Lie and hand back the propaganda movies and say you couldn’t rip them to some unknown rip protecting they use and there’s not enough resources online to figure it out.
  3. Host the content and let your mother liver her life and don’t say anything.

I’d personally use option 1, but you do you.

odelik,

This is where all of you are mistaken.

These are public service positions, not professions. Thinking of these as professions only encourages entitlement, power, and greed.

odelik,

There’s one feature that win11 has over win10 that I wish was there, and that’s the default layout manager is superior to windows 10’s, and less fidgety and better hotkeys than what’s offered with Power Toys. Especially vertical monitor support, which win10s layout manager never got an update for. And as a Tie-Fighter monitor setup user (4k portrait, WQHD landscape, 4k portrait) having an effective layout manager is crucial.

However, there’s 3rdParty layout managers that are even better than the win11 implementation. Butt to be able to get the default support of an effective layout manager is quite nice.

That said, that’s the only feature I really like aside from some nominal improvements/optimizations to background systems (network stack, Bluetooth management, “game mode”) and services. That’s not enough for me to transition when there’s so many other things that were done to make it a worse experince.

I’m excited to transition my personal desktop to PopOS once win10 reaches EoL. Maybe Valve will drop their latest SteamOS in time for the Win10 EoL hoping to attract all those gamers on non-TPM 2.0 supported systems that are still great gaming rigs. I know I’d at least give it a go.

“The show was great, hilarious even, until Jerry opened his mouth and said something.” - Me imitating Seinfeld

But seriously. I loved a few of the kooky characters, and would always stop channel surfing on a Kramer scene. But Jerry would always say something dumb and I’d move on.

odelik,

Twitch, OnlyFans Cams, another cam site.

Gotta sell what you’ve got and sexualize it to high hell.

odelik,

Or in very tight clothing. Mystery sells. Mix in some ASMR and wham bam thank you ma’am.

odelik,

I don’t know what show you watched, but the Fallout show was laden with comedy in nearly every scene. It heavily leans on dark comedy and the perils & shittiness of humanity with random touches of the absurd (or oddball as you put it). With my experince of the Fallout franchise and spending countless hours reading terminals, listening to the recordings, talking to the denziens of the world in all the fallout games since FO1 except for 76, I thought they did an excellent job capturing the tone of the universe.

My biggest complaint is that they could have done a couple more episodes to flesh out some details. However that has more to do with how shows now seem to have a ~8 episode format instead of the ~12 episode format (or even ~22 format of old. Who remebers having all those Supernatural epps?!) than the show itself. Most newer streaming shows leave me with this gripe. This gripe is likely the same reason why you felt that the coverage of BoS, NCR, and Shady Sands was a little flat/copouty.

odelik,

Some of that “weak stuff” includes things like:

  • Basic Hygine.
  • Maintain relationships you care about but struggle with.
  • Focusing on a conversation that is interesting or has valuable information you need but drift off after 30 seconds because you notice something in the background, a misplaced hair on their face, or your brain over corrects and you get stuck in the “must focus” internal mantra.
  • Remembering to eat instead of hyper focusing on a project and time blindness kicks in and it 14 hours later.
  • So-man-other-things.

ADHD is a fucking struggle mate. And your advice is oblivious to the realities of the struggles and life.

odelik,

This is some serious r/iamverysmart over simplicity. Nothing I said was shame mate.

I like living without stinking to high hell, having teeth that aren’t rotting and infected, and not being covered in rashes and fungal growth because I am maintaining personal hygiene.

I love having friends. They bring me so much joy, happiness, shared interests, and introducing me to activities I enjoy.

Listening and not being constantly stuck in my mind allows me to build my knowledge and wisdom instead of some neckbeard elitist iamverysmart intern hellion.

I don’t mask anymore, but I’m also not going to be some shitstain that believes they’re the next “great” just because I am not nerutypical and have a false belief that the greats are-just-like-me because I’m neurodivergent.

odelik,

It’s a tone thing.

There’s a few regular article posters than either post articles with a certain tone to the headline or they editorialize the post title to fit their narrative. It’s similar to how you can notice how somebody you’re familiar with writes and uses language and can identify potential alt/sock puppet accounts from them.

Due to this I’ve come to believe that these people are astro-turfers with a disengenous agenda.

odelik,

Winamp, from a time when random meant random.

I’ve been on a road trip for the last week, and have well over 3000 songs on my “library” in Spotify. I was hearing repeats of songs within 3 hours (before my first fuel stop). When I hit random I expect each song in my Playlist to be put in a random order then navigated through. Spotify however creates a Playlist of a a subset of songs (this size has changed, at one point in time it was 20 tracks, but IIRC it’s up to 50 now). As each plays, the last track in the Playlist is “randomly” chosen for that last spot with no context of recent listening history. And I seriously wouldn’t doubt that there’s a weighting due to popularity, your listening frequency, and several other factors due to some bean counters.

I miss using Winamp.

odelik,

You can watch it happen in real time.

Select your library and click the play random then go to your now playing Playlist and it has a list of upcoming tracks. Each time a song ends the last song is updated.

The current Playlist block may have context, but anything outside the currently playing seems to just randomly select songs from your overall library.

And I’ve read this article about a dozen times over the years. I honestly don’t think Spotify knows what people want in random which is why you can see people complain about their randomness from their inception til today.

IIRC this video goes over the chunking at some point youtu.be/OdLyKETk5o0

odelik,

I had been pirating MP3s since the 90s and was acquiring them from usenet & irc before Napster became a thing. Usenet & IRC never had a fake song in my experience. Napster/Kazaa/Etc were easier to use but had the mislabeled tracks all-over.

I haven’t pirated music in years though, so I’m not sure what thearket is like these days.

odelik,

Nah, I don’t even want the results where people are talking about the cesspit.
