I liked this one. It's not great, but it's well done and is a novel twist on the regular found footage ghost house type film. It's found footage ghost house at the bottom of a lake, in scuba gear.

A little hobby hacking progress. I've been working on integrating a 3rd party lib for collision detection (I had rolled my own).

I've got the new 3rd party colliders and a "shape caster" setup now, and reporting contacts (you can see the little arrows on the player as it moves around).

I'm also adding and removing a "Grounded" component when the shape caster reports -Y contact.

I'm still not using this information to influence movement - that's all still happening with my hand-rolled stuff.

Can't wait until I get done with work, fill out my primary ballot, drop it off, go to the grocery store, claim a fast-food drive-thru experience, then finally return home so I can hobby hack and watch horror.

So, my weekend plan of refactoring my game by chopping systems up into smaller systems seems like it could dovetail with some experimentation with bevy_xpbd.

Mostly I'm interested in splitting things like "apply gravity," "adjust acceleration," and "update positions" into distinct systems. Once that's done it will make swapping out my collision code for an alternate solution a bit easier 🤞

I live near a small airfield and it hosts an annual Air Show. The jets have been doing rehearsals all week, but I guess today's the day as there's been non-stop roars of F-22s or whatever. Fighter jets "doing donuts" in the airspace around my home sort of sucks.
