my fan interests might be stuck in 2014 but i will never be more irritatingly iconic than 10 year old me who animated potato versions of the heathers from heathers the musical on scratch, had a halfassed emo fringe that i gave myself as a baby trans while singing "defying gravity", sang musicals really loudly at lunchtime, was a pastafarian who wrote prayers on random sketchbook pages in class, and wrote like 3 books on google docs

some people will be like yesss hbomberguy so true plagiarism bad and then use artists’ work uncredited as playlist covers and headers and profile pictures etc. or even worse say “credit: pinterest” like YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!!! you are why up and coming queer creators and creators of color and disabled creators and jewish and muslim creators etc etc etc don’t get the work you claim to love recognized. it’s bc no one can figure out where the hell it came from because you don’t care enough.

I do wish that "adult diaper" was not as much of a common gag as it is. You have no idea how widespread it is for people to struggle with incontinence with disabilities, after giving birth, as the body ages, etc. And even if it wasn't common it's still a pretty shitty thing to be making fun of! Hardly anyone worth their salt makes jokes about menstrual products these days because we all know it's something you can't control & disproportionately affects marginalized people. Same sort of deal here

california hurricane is so weird because i know i should take it seriously but it also just feels so surreal. it’s hard to find good information on how it’s actually affecting everything so far and i just can’t really believe it’s happening.

as far as i know, it’s more of a tropical storm than hurricane for now because of how it’s slowing down, so that might add to why it doesn’t feel serious to me? i’m not sure.

@canineical my mom put a large mixing bowl outside today (you know where we live) and after about an hour it was completely full. it feels surreal but i think that and seeing massive literal puddles in the backyard kind of shocked me into reality

my classes are so crazy this year… two dual enrollment college courses (english & us history, ap physics, ap compsci a, ap calculus ab, and spanish 3 honors 😵‍💫 it’s about to be such a year

@canineical god same. im taking chinese iii/iv in one year, studying for the level two german exam, doing speech and debate and competing as early as september, advanced rhetoric, pre-calc, asian studies, physics, and taking other electives and doing outside of school shit outside of that. and all of that is college level T_T

    @harriorrihar One artist not putting image descriptions on art that they publicly share is not going to stop an AI. It is only going to harm those with vision issues/others who may need image descriptions that want to appreciate your work. Respectfully, I strongly disagree with this decision and would urge you to reconsider your practice

    @harriorrihar I understand that that can feel disrespectful, but it also seems quite disrespectful to me to exclude specifically people with disabilities from your work, which you are still posting online. AI does train with images, not just image descriptions. There is no point in only posting something inaccessible when it's not really making much of a difference.

    polyamory is so fucking frustrating sometimes. i just keep getting involved w people who end up slowly unveiling the fact that they just like that i can make them feel loved until they find someone who wants to be exclusive… like damn, it’s so easy to end up just like. on the back burner.

    i don’t know why people can’t understand that polyamory can feel just as intimate to people and that losing a partner hurts the same way it would if you were monogamous…

    Begging people to stop using artist's work without crediting them, even as profile pictures or headers. If you found it on Pinterest and you don't know the artist, don't use the image. Check the artist's about me to see if they're okay with you using their images. Reach out to them. Etc etc etc. Please do not randomly take images from people and use them without credit!!
