Follow up.
Der 10 Jahre alte EVVA EMZY funktioniert eigentlich immer noch.
Das Problem war, dass sich eine Schraube gelöst hat, die den Motorteil und den 3KS Schlossteil verbunden hat.
Das führte dazu, dass sich im Inneren ein Messingdrehteil zerlegt hat.
Diesen Teil tausche ich morgen, dann geht das Ding wieder.
Diesmal kommt Schraubenkleber an die Verbindungsschraube dann überlebt der Motor noch einmal 10 Jahre.

's shit algo decided that i enjoy automatically generated music and now floods my experience with 2 minute long "songs" that end right in the middle after 2 minutes.
while some of those autogenerated tunes are cool, its super upsetting and unsatisfying that the music stops right in the middle just to be replaced with another auto-generated piece that also stops aftr 2 minutes.

sie können somit 50% vom geschriebenen direkt in die tonne treten.

ich würde sowas nie meinen kunden als referenzcode geben und mich dann wundern wenn sie den als "räudig" bezeichnen.

i got terabytes of photos on old usbsticks, sdccards, harddrives, phone backups,...

i was thinking about moving all those to one giant drive.
it would be cool to have some software that automatically copies all fotos into some structure that can later be browsed / tagged.

id like to add tags like "phone 2012" or "holiday 2001" to folders and fotos.
a automatic face recognition would also be cool.
and exif parsing for geolocation and date.

what FOSS software i should i try?

Some people asked me why i moved instances.

First: i like chaos.social a LOT.
Most of my friends are there and i really enjoy the overall culture and welcoming and inclusive ways of approaching each other.
@ordnung does a really good job at enforcing the rules they set up for their house and i have deep respect for their voluntary work of running and moderating the instance.

2 days ago I had conversation with a user form another instance [0].
The person posted about being in a world of pain on windows filesystems and VScode and that "they" should include a warning.

I came up with a snarky warning making fun of windows in general.
Unfortunately the person that posted the original post tought i was addressing them directly and replied:
"gee I wonder why everyone thinks Linux users are pretentious assholes"

So I went to read the rules wondering what they were referring too and, lo and behold:

"Don’t be a reply guy – uninvited comments about another user’s personal choices, lifestyle or family are strongly discouraged and may be considered harassment." [1]

What IS a reply guy?
A person replying to a post on social media that gives unwelcome feedback?

Ok?
But i thought social media was about being social and posting things so people can interact?

Spätestens, wenn dir die angeschriebene Person sagt, dass sie deine Antwort nicht mochte / nicht wollte / dein Verhalten nicht gut findet, ist der Zeitpunkt gekommen, damit aufzuhören, statt das noch ewig nachzudiskutieren.

Da das nicht das erste Mal ist, dass wir mit dir über solche Dinge reden, möchten wir dich noch einmal bitten, das a) in Zukunft zu lassen, und dir b) zu überlegen, ob das hier die richtige Instanz für dich ist, wenn du diese Regel offenbar nicht sinnvoll findest.

since this was the third time the interpretation of rules according to @ordnung and the ideas of me showed to be incompatible i decided to follow their advice and switch instances.

Is 23.social the right instance for me?
I don't know!

I felt really good at chaos.social but i CAN not meet the expectations of those responsible for running the instance.

Not because i don't WANT to.
I just cant.
The concept of a "reply-guy" is a burning dumpster fire, just waiting to be abused.
