plumbercraic,

After seeing this I can safely say that I’m never gonna miss another euro vision final again.

plumbercraic,

Find something you love then watch a sequel/reboot/adaptation written by a different team with contempt for the source material. For me it started with ghost busters 2016, but tlou part 2 and the witcher Netflix really helped too.

plumbercraic,

I certainly haven’t figure out how to be happy without being grateful. And I’ve noticed comparison seems to serve little purpose other than to undermine gratitude.

plumbercraic,

She is a lot less busy than I would have thought.

plumbercraic,

I just meant I was surprised that an award winning writer and producer has ringle levels of time

plumbercraic,

Great video. I should play through that Snes game again. The “recent” ones on PC were pretty good, but the snes one somehow has a cooler vibe.

plumbercraic,

Oh cool - I didn’t know it was different. Will add it to my handheld

plumbercraic,

2025 might be enough time for me to get a heart win with ironclad and watcher. Not sure I’ll be ready by then tbh.

plumbercraic,

Lol I just cracked out both in one session. I think a1 might be easier than a0

plumbercraic,

This sure sounds like an internalised version of “you’re one of the good ones”. It’s cool man, don’t let bigots gaslight you into feeling bad about your gender.

plumbercraic,

I have custom firmware on my 3ds so it was as easy as installing the dumper cia and running it. Here’s the qr code I used from the github link to the cia.

I was gonna do the quiz it mentions here but it’s a 404 exchristian.net/3/

Cool article though - thanks for sharing. I wanna read thst Fitzgerald book now.

Edit: book was legit. First one is called Nailed and it goes through 10 myths about historical jesus. Absolutely fascinating.

plumbercraic,

Agreed, I would hope that along with the new policy that the enforcement savings were put into changing the behaviour. Interesting that fentanol test rates are going up, and deaths are also up 5%. Wonder if the presence of fentanol in their opiod supply has increased. That’s a very solvable problem, if people are willing to go full 🇨🇭

MAME 0.264 (www.mamedev.org)

MAME 0.264 is ready right on time! Before we get to emulation improvements, there are some changes to the debugger that may affect you. The debugger’s printf and logerror commands now support more formatting conversions and options, including NUL-terminated strings from emulated memory, hexadecimal numbers with lowercase...

plumbercraic,

The scale and longevity of this project never ceases to amaze me.

[Game] Evil West - 2022 graphics, early 2000s gameplay (lemmy.zip)

Evil West is a lot of fun, but if it weren’t for the modern graphics you would’ve thought it was made in the early 2000s. It’s linear levels to reach open arenas for fighting bad guys and each level ends in a boss fight. The combat is really fun though and you get so many different weapons and moves that I legitimately...

plumbercraic,

Yeah I bought it on steam but refunded it - just didn’t click for me, and I think there was something with the ultra wide support.

plumbercraic,

That was an excellent thing to start my day with - cheers. I’m probably more like OP, but I like this perspective and am trying to move towards it. One habit that has helped is swapping phone time for book time. Even if there is still some phone time, any book time is a win: I learn stuff from sources I can trust, and there are no ads.

Headline seemed to me to imply that the real names are being added to publicly visible posts, but this isn’t the case. Still creepy that they would add a real name to the profile at all, glad i dont have an account there.

Monica soon discovered that deleting her Glassdoor account would not prevent them from storing her name, instead only deactivating her account. She decided to go through with a data erasure request, which Glassdoor estimated could take up to 30 days. In the meantime, her name remained on her profile, where it wasn’t publicly available to employers but it could be used to link her to job reviews if Glassdoor introduced a bug in an update or data was ever breached, she feared.

“Since we require all users to have their names on their profiles, we will need to update your profile to reflect this,” one Glassdoor employee wrote while reassuring her that “your anonymity will still be protected.”

“No one has the ability to see your user profile and the contents within it, meaning no one, including your employer, will be able to see your details,” Glassdoor’s employee wrote.

Switching back to Android (GrapheneOS), anything cool I've been missing out on?

Long story short: I don’t like iOS but have been using an iPhone for a couple years due to lack of personally viable hardware options on the Android side of things. I’ve gotten tired of waiting and found a good deal on an open box Pixel 8 Pro which arrives in a few days, I’ll be installing GrapheneOS on it....

plumbercraic,

Mihon is a great comic reader that connects to my Komga server - it’s the reason I got into android. Launch box is a pretty cool front end for roms, but I tend to not use it now that I have a dedicated retro handheld.

Oh and Revanced, of course. I can’t see myself going back to ios.

What should I add to my '90s website?

So I'm currently toying around with NeoCities, and decided to trial it by building your classic mid '90s Geocities/Tripod/Angelfire pastiche website.

Some of the most important elements are already in place.

Tile background? Large font? Heading in bright pink with a shadow? Unusual colour choices? Random cat gifs? Under construction gif? Check! Check! Check!

In the true spirit of the '90s DIY web, some more pages (including the links page) are coming soon.

(I'm thinking of adding a page dedicated to either Britney or a nu-metal band.)

You can see the page so far here: https://that90ssite.neocities.org/

There are a few things that I want to add to make it complete, and I'm looking for suggestions.

The first, is to embed a midi file that plays automatically. Any suggestions on the best way of doing this?

Second, it's just not going to be complete without a guestbook.

Third, any webring suggestions?

Fourth, what's the best way of adding a java chat room in 2024?

Finally, anything else that really needs to be a part of a great '90s website?

UPDATE: Thanks for all the feedback! I've added more annoying GIFs, a guestbook, a links page, and a cyber cat hangout.

UPDATE 2: And added even more gifs, an amazing Amiga demo, and a ton of links.

plumbercraic,

Custom curors that animate at rest and during loading so you’re not sure which part of the curors clicks, and also not sure sure if something is being loaded or not. Bonus points if the cursor changes to yet another ambiguous animated one as you hover over a tiny button which would pause the midi track.

plumbercraic,

I have an elite, but prefer the 8 bit do ultimate. It’s light but sturdy, comfortable, can toggle to pair with my switch or the PC, and has a cool looking charging dock.
